FTA: The presidential candidate,,,sang "Bomb bomb Iran." Pathologically lunatic statement.

There will be more wars regardless of who's in office. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in some serious denial...

Anyone who makes excuses for presidential hopefuls who sell new wars like Classic Coke is a Radioactive Ass.

Whereas, if we elect Hillary, there will never, ever be another war and we'll all fart daisies.

No excuses here. I don't care who's in office or what party they are from, I'm just stating the sorry fact of life that there will be more wars. I don't claim to know where or when but it will happen as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. To state otherwise is pure denial.

Bathroom Gumshoe 2008-01-27 07:40:46 PM
Okay. I'm sorry I called you a Radioactive Ass, Mr. Radioactive Ass, sir.

And as for me Mr. flucto, I plan to fart daisies irregardless.

The problem with war is that there is not enough pillage or at least not in a way that benefits the American economy. I propose that the US army pillage the places that we invade and put the plunder up on an Ebay-like website.

Think about it. How often have you wanted one of Saddam's gold plated Ak's?

blog.wired.com

With my simple solution -now it can be yours. If you are not a fan of gold plated weaponry, then you probably would like an authentic piece of history in your home. With my simple solution now it can be yours.

War may be inevitable, but I'd like a leader with a less-itchy trigger finger, capiche?

Wait, does anyone think there's a candidate who can stop all war?

We just have to liberate the rest of the world. Why do you hate freedom?

So, we're going to have a warmonger with no understanding of economics. Sounds familiar, and damn scary.

With him you'll essentially be electing the vice president.

/and seriously, who campaigns with their MOM?!

Alphax 2008-01-27 09:01:14 PM
Yet another reason to shun McCain like the plague.

jebusfreak [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 09:01:27 PM
He seems quite ready to be the first to volunteer to serve in any new wars..... hmmm... Hey wait a second. Since he was a POW for five years, that should mean he should be forced to serve overseas for five years, to make up for the pay, and his return to service after liberation. How many other people who decide they are gonna just skip off on their military duties can be CINC? The way I see it, he owes America five more years of service, at the bottom of the chain of command, before he can be president!

As far as I can see he's stating a fact. He's using it to pander and using it a little too enthusiastically but it's still fact.

Bill Frist 2008-01-27 09:02:51 PM
McCain has gone from a respectable political moderate to a flagrant display of self-parody in just a few months.

This dude SUCKS.

Your Farking Father 2008-01-27 09:03:01 PM
Wait, wait. A candidate that states there is a likelihood that we're likely to face more wars in an increasingly unsettled and violent world? A world that has countries and *gasp* citizens who do not wish the American people warm, fuzzy thoughts? Nations that cheerfully manufacture reasons to try holding America an economic hostage, or look for reasons to demonize America for their own nefarious ends..? Ends that often include violence against America, and its citizens...?

That's too much for us. Come on, McCain! Get with the program: most of us don't like a reality check at this stage of the campaign! Lie to us. We like it.

Shaggy_C 2008-01-27 09:03:59 PM
Guntram Shatterhand: With him you'll essentially be electing the vice president.

At least McCain isn't as bound to the corporate interests like Cheney. He wouldn't sacrifice principle for profit, I hope. Still that's not exactly a big change from where we are right now...

Larofeticus 2008-01-27 09:04:39 PM
The real shame of all of this is the only way to even come close to proving all these warmonger types wrong is to let them have their wars, and then afterwards when everything gets exponentially worse, scream in their face, "SEE? THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!"

There is a real possibility that even at that point they'll still refuse to see. Even when there are more terrorists than when we started, when more of the world hates us, when the economy becomes even worse, and when the oil gets more expensive.

At this rate only catostrophically bad consequences will stop them, but only years after it's too late.

Bathroom Gumshoe 2008-01-27 09:05:36 PM
LadyBinky: And yet McCain is the least scary Republican.

Not so sure Lady. Likable, yah, we all like McC. But he tends to hiccup "war" more often than Rudy belches "9/11".

And, o'course, an incantation like that is liable to whip up some seriously ugly sorcery. "Global Terrorism" as it stands at the moment bears no practical resemblance to, say, Germany rolling over Europe in big metal killing machines. So to go around huffing and puffing like Winston Churchill is feckin' mental -- the kind of mental that puts the "fatal" in "fatalism".

Time to ride the Straight Talk Express into Retirement Acres.

TDUsGamer 2008-01-27 09:06:26 PM
My god...I just posted a relatively positive thing about Ron Paul on the internet...

Great, now the Paulites will claim me as one of their own before bashing me for being against the pro-life, lock the Mexicans out, anti-net neutrality, "free guns for everyone" guy who wants to make sure minimum wage stays down and universal healthcare is hopeless in America.

/Obama 08.

Only because we're trying to take over the world one country at a time and gasp people may not like it. Oh no's whatever will we do.

England. They're not in ruin (but they are considerably smaller now).

Does it bother anyone else how often McCain uses the phrase "my friends"? It was bad enough when I heard it the first time, but he says it about 100 times per speech.

Guntram Shatterhand: Brain like Bush, heart like Cheney.

Right, because Cheney didn't last 7 years so far without even a heart attack.... or um, because his mom is 20+ years older than him, demonstrating that humans do actually function that old.

Do you have a point? Is it that you are a retard? I don't like McCain, but (1) Ron Paul is older, and (2) ageism is the worst reason to not vote for any of these people.

Yeah, but Rudy is probably out of the race by Tuesday, and Ron Paul is just being a hemorrhoid to the Republican party.

Passive vigilance is better than sending shock troopers all over the world to any place that someone thinks their might be a hint of trouble some years in the future. Cheaper too, which is nice since we seem to have some money problems approaching.

Shaggy_C 2008-01-27 09:20:35 PM
LadyBinky: McCain is the least scary Republican that has a chance.

I dunno...I think, in order of likelihood to bomb another country full of brown people:

1) Rudy
2) McCain
3) Romney
4) Huckabee
5) Paul

From that aspect alone, he worries me. Add the fact that he understands less about economics than you or I...and it's not a pretty picture.
