I think 'ol Dick having a lesbian daughter is just proof that God has a really sharp sense of humor.

She brings a wider stance to Mitt than he could ever hope to achieve.

Daughter of neocon, machiavellian politician supports neocon, machiavellian politician. It's not news, it's Fark.com.

Ok... she worked in the state department. What qualifications did she have to handle any matters of state?!

Would it be a low-blow for another candidate to say "This is an election for change, and the Cheney family working with Romney is proof that he does not represent change", or something to that effect?

This morning, on a local radio show, a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce was saying how excited she was that a minority could become president. She was referring to Mitt Romney and his Mormonism.

Sorry, that's kindof off topic, but I thought you guys would find that funny.

Yeah, my wife's family is Mormon (we even spent our honeymoon in Salt Lake) so I understand. It's like saying that I'm a minority if I believe in phrenology.

The local plutocrats in my area, Panama City Florida, whom had Cheney down here in the run up to the 2004 elections, are all supporting Romney. We used to have local plutocrats who used to actually put money into the community, but the new generation of these sorry bastards are just the opposite; they use the government to shut out competition into the state and federal building projects which they dominate and send money to some PAC in Ohio which in turn gets the government to pour sand on the beaches every time we have a storm. (the only thing it renourishes is their business, because they are big on hiring illegals and bringing in low wage workers from east Europe.) It has been said that they are poisoning the local ground water with illegal dumping, but there is no government agency that will do anything under the lawless Bush administration. Real pieces of human manure, the lot of them.

Now this, open cronyism between Romney and Cheney.
The neocons have chosen Romney to carry on their thieving.

i wouldn't read too much into this yet. with the bush administration we're dealing with a close-knit bunch of toads, who very, very often have close familial links, and equally often master / servant relationships of more than thirty years. i suspect that they'll try and spread themselves out amongst the candidates so as to ensure that they can maintain proximity to power

peterquince: Is the book you're trying to sell even published?

It's free. The author is a respected professor of soc. psy., and has published many papers in peer-reviewed journals. John Dean used his work for "Conservative without Conscience."

FTFA: Cheney most recently worked in the State Department handling Middle East affairs...Romney said Liz Cheney brings the campaign "years of experience helping to formulate America's foreign policy and to advance democracy and reform in the Middle East."

Working in the Bush/Cheney State Department alone does not inspire confidence...we've seen their handiwork for 7 long-ass years. What actual qualifications does she have? She a lawyer with foreign policy experience mainly among her father's political cronies (new window). What's more, she appears to be a dyed-in the wool neoconservative in her own right...

Cheney also headed the Iran-Syria Operations Group (ISOG), a unit within the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. ISOG has an $80 million budget to promote democracy in Iran and to develop administration policy for Iran and Syria.

...which should disqualify her from ever being authorized to touch American foreign policy ever again. Make her an intern, Mitt. Get her to fetch your morning decaf latte. Nothing more.

Cheney isn't running. Now if a candidate's kids back a different candidate, then worry.

Superjoe 2008-01-27 07:45:22 PM
Wow, endorsed by a Cheney! Romney must be a great candidate.

"Let's see ... who's the biggest lying scumbag running this year. Hmmm ... Romney seems a lot like Dad. I'll support him."

Less chance of becoming a political dynasty than the Nixon family itself.

Alphax: I didn't know he had 2 daughters.

Is true.

One has a man sized safe just like dad.

The other has a woman sized safe.

/Not sure wot that all means either.
//Did McCain hire her to endorse him?

Olympus Mons 2008-01-28 10:02:20 AM
Too bad ... the other Cheney's daughter would have given McCain's female vote a licking they never would forgotten
