Congratulations Barack, this is a really big win because Ted has influence within the Democratic rank and file that equals or exceeds that of Bill Clinton. One suggestion though, if he offers to drive you any where, it might be best to diplomaticly refuse and take a cab.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 01:49:13 PM
This coming on the heels of Hillary's defeat yesterday should be driving her nuts right about now.

Asked for comment, Kennedy said "I know how it feels to be caught in a car with a white woman."

The thing that I think is funny about Ted Kennedy is that after killing someone the only real penalty was that he can never, ever be president.

Because she is forgiven by the live giving blood of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He also forgives DUI's, cocaine, and being AWOL from the ANG during wartime.

BFD.
Kennedy has influence on Massachussets. Not a ton, but, some.
Kerry has influence on Massachussets. Not a ton, but, some.
Hillary has influence on THE ENTIRE FEMALE POPULATION OF THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. Not all of them, BUT MOST.
So, B. Hussein Obama has some influence upon a completely dead in the water political dynasty, and one that never really was.
Big whoop.
Hillary still has more experience and more state primary wins than B. Hussein Obama, and still has a far better chance than he EVER WILL.
Dont get me wrong, he is putting up a good fight for being such an underdog, but, he is still the underdog and still will lose out to the biggest dog in the kennel.

Remember, in the democratic primaries the delegates aren't "winner takes all"

Obama may not win New York or California, but he will at least get a good chunk of the delegates from each.

I'm amazed that you find the time to collect so many absolutely retarded political cartoons for both this log in and AD.

And the thing is, most of them are the most basic, shallow and pointless political hit pieces I've seen.

Are they all-or-nothing states or split based on percentage states?

I'm well aware of their process. All I'm saying is that it would be nearly impossible for Hillary to rebound from losing her state and/or California. I'm not saying he couldn't still win without them, just that those two would be a near lock on his nomination.

Percentage. But a "loser" in those places could lose the valuable Superdelegates.

Like I said in that quote:

Only some republican states are all-or-nothing. None of hte dems are.

Deneb81:

All Democratic Primaries/Caucuses are % based, but with a lower threshold of 15% that must be reached by a candidate to get delegates.

Republican Primaries/Caucuses delegates differ from state to state, some are winner take all and some are %, the ones that are % may or may not have a lower threshold.

So basically, every D primary is a %, but for the R primaries you should look it up state by state, CNN has decent info on it, otherwise I'm sure the wiki entries for the states should be close enough.

All the Dem primaries are generally porportional, though the delegate allocation rules do make for some funny math. (Which is how Obama got more delegates in Nevada.)

The Republican primaries have a lot of Winner Takes All but not a majority.

All valid, with the exception of driving drunk. I'm not sure that is any worse than intentionally disregarding traffic signs.

My problem is that it's never mentioned, yet Kennedy's debacle is referenced at every possible opportunity, as though it invalidates his position.

Indeed.

Maybe it's just my impression, but it seemed to me that she left SC in a huff last night. Obama gave one hell of a victory speech while Hillary just kinda stomped off and left Bill to cover for her. And now this endorsement? Yeah - i'd *love* to hear the uncensored reponse from the bill/hill team.

It doesn't seem very stately to blow off a concession speech; actually, she hasn't really given one yet. Even in Iowa, she acted like she won. Perhaps this is all part of the plan to ignore the bad, pump up the good.

I don't think it's part of any 'plan'. I think that Hillary is a sore loser and is just honest enough to know that getting in front of a camera after a public defeat is a bad bad idea.

Just my .02 cents tho, so take it for what you will.
