I wonder how many miles to the gallon that thing would get . . .

Semi-on-topic question:

Is there a video synopsis of the plot points of the series, starting with HL1 (skipping or not skipping Opposing Force and Blue Shift, I don't really care either way) and going through Ep.2?

I've got my wife singing the Portal credits song, but she needs to see what happens in the rest of the HL franchise, and she doesn't really like FPS games.

Thanks. I'd seen that before, actually, but I was hoping for something in video form, which could potentially be extraordinarily full of win.

This'll work if I don't find a video, though.

Scutter 2008-01-27 11:32:38 AM
OH. MY. GOD. That was so completly full of win that I now have a new will to live.

I recommend starting here.

Are you suggesting that I make my own video? That's not a bad idea.

On the other hand, if you've misunderstood my posts as meaning that I don't know the story and/or have never played the games... uh, no. I bought the 3-pack of the original and the two addons years ago, and have played all three maybe five or six times. They're on my "replay at least once every 2 years" list, along with Deus Ex and the two Fallout games. Max Payne 2 may or may not be on the list, too. It's too soon to tell. Morrowind's still iffy. If I play it again this year and still like it, it's in.

I'm just looking for some way to show my wife what happens in the games, because simply telling it is boring, and while she won't play them, she'd probably enjoy a video of the high points.

I can't give you me license officer. Why not said the head crab officer to John Freeman. Because you are headcrab zombie!

An oldie, but a goodie: Half-Life in 60 Seconds. It's in German and is comedic, but she should get the gist. Then you can show her the intro video from Ep.2.

I know nothing about HL and that was awesome.

Wasn't expecting it to be that funny. Literally laughed out loud at "the pants were dead". Woke up my roommate.

I don't know what the fark I just watched, but I think it was awesome seventeen ways to tuesday.

This video falls right on the line between brilliance and mental retardation. Sort of ironic since one of the characters is retarded.

Chariset [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 02:19:21 PM
John Freeman looked at road signs and saw "Ravenholm" with someons writing under it saying "u shudnt come here" so John Freeman almost turned around but heard screaming like Gordon so he went faster again.

What a hero.

Or an Uwe Boll movie.

"He kept driving down the road and made sure there was no zombies around because he ddint have weapon...........

..."Because you are headcrab zombie" so John Freeman shot the oficer in the head and drove off"

Theres a few holes in the plot.

Maybe it's just cause I saw it first, but I prefer the old Full Life Consequences flashes. Better graphics, but too manic.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XZrkOTzPUC4

It's neat to note that this version used Gordon Frohman (of Concerned fame) as John Freeman.

Go on. Treat yourself.

It almost makes me want to dig up some retarded story I wrote like that when I was that age and animate it.
