Oh, come on, this happens down here in L.A. at least once a week. Some times even with big planes.

Well, think about it. Which has more viable landing slots...LAX, or I-405?

/Tough call.

How about a 767 on a runway converted to be a dragstrip?

What the hell are all of this runway doing on my automobiles?

Well, they say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing....any landing you can re-use the plane is a GREAT landing.

I heard that a pilot once complained to Atlanta tower that there were a number of airplanes on his runway,.....at which point one of the pilots on the runway informed him that he was landing on the taxiway.

Power failure. . .no one hurt, moderately bent airplane. . .and farkers claim fail.

//farkers fail on this one

Fail? Hardly... Any landing you can walk away from is a good one!

As someone with a private pilot's license I may have gotten a kick out of these replies....but I can confirm that any landing you walk away from is a good one. Your definition of good may vary...as might mine since I've never even had less than a perfect landing.

I feel this one's a successful landing, too.

/cliff's notes: complete loss of hydraulics on a DC-10 due to asplodination of #2 engine and frag damage; the crew flew the thing using nothing but throttle control on the two remaining engines, and managed to guide it to an airport for a bumpy landing. Almost 2/3rds of the passengers survived
