Sad tag must have just edged out the Obvious tag. Reunions are hot with the musical scene as muddled as it is.

/hard to think of the New Kids as nostalgia

Software2 2008-01-26 11:09:57 PM
The boy band, which made legions of tweens swoon in the early '90s, selling more than 50 million albums, became a worldwide phenomenon before calling it quits in 1994.

Uhhhg... Tween.

Moonraper 2008-01-26 11:10:25 PM
I still contend that Donnie Wahlberg is a far superior actor than his brother, Marky Mark. Heck, his tiny role in The Sixth Sense alone proves this.

Gyrfalcon [TotalFark] 2008-01-26 11:11:23 PM
Okay, when did Fark get flood protection? I thought I left that behind for good on totse. I am so going to complain to the Flying Spaghetti Monster and any other interested parties.

Holy Jesus.

Wollffeey 2008-01-26 11:30:42 PM
Ah, damn. I remember watching their Saturday morning cartoon when I was 4.

It doesn't make me feel old, just... pathetic.

/Now I have You Got It stuck in my head.
//Shoot me now.

astoreth 2008-01-26 11:32:34 PM
The oldest "Kid," Jonathan Knight, now a real estate developer, will turn 40 later this year.

Girls, if you were in Junior High the same time I was, I bet you're feeling as ancient as I am now.

/My lawn, get off it

Swampthing in Korea 2008-01-26 11:37:01 PM
Will they be guest starts on the 90210 reunion special?

EmmaLou 2008-01-26 11:43:48 PM
Jonathan was teh hotness. I was sure I would marry him. Then again I was 10.

Oh, I just googled him. Damn, he's still hot. Do want. I don't care if he was in a boy band.

Saracuda 2008-01-26 11:46:20 PM
I loved them so much in 8th grade! Now, they just seem kind of silly. I'd probably watch the reunion concert on TV, though.

/I loved Jordan

Bob Down 2008-01-26 11:46:29 PM
Which one is the straight one again?

Ali_the_Cat 2008-01-26 11:47:12 PM
Subby forgot about slap bracelets. And I totally had their lunchbox, sleepingbag, sheet set, a plethora of posters... OH in FACT I even still have a NKOTB watch!! Does this mean I can wear it in public again?!

/no. not really.
//really have it. not really wear it.

Ganymede_Elegy 2008-01-26 11:47:22 PM

Moonraper: I still contend that Donnie Wahlberg is a far superior actor than his brother, Marky Mark. Heck, his tiny role in The Sixth Sense alone proves this.

Agreed. Though I cannot deny that Mark Wahlberg has got some crazy acting chops too. He was awesome in The Departed.

So, are they going on a reality show to have wacky adventures or are they boxing with Vanilla Ice and Amy Fisher or what?

somamoons 2008-01-27 12:31:22 AM
Oh my god. Oh my farking god. This is completely unnecessary.

Mark Wahlberg played Mark Wahlberg in The Departed. Not too difficult to play an a-hole from Massachusetts when you are an a-hole from Massachusetts.

Duck_of_Doom 2008-01-27 01:16:38 AM
This proves there is no FSM.

/has Hangin' Tough in my head now...damn you Subby!

Bob Down: Which one is the straight one again?

Boy band member = gay.

Sort of like UCLA frat boy. Or American Gladiator.

DrySocket [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 01:42:05 AM
You think theyll bring back horseface too?

I predict at least one of them is 300 lbs

Rumour has it that they will be renamed Old Guys on the Stoop.

Transpogue 2008-01-27 02:11:00 AM
That's monkeyface, not horseface DrySocket.

Poor, poor Danny.

Is it very sad that I still remember that Jordan's two middle names are Nathaniel and Marcel?

And that he wears a size 10 shoe?

I did dirty, dirty things as an 8th-grader to my Jordan poster.

And yet, I came out queer. Who knew?

Then again, my tomboy best friend also liked Jordan as wel...hmmmmm.

/food for thought
//Jordan was the pretty one
///Won't be buying a ticket for this
////Saw him on Surreal Life...guy's an ass

TripodSardine 2008-01-27 02:14:52 AM
Didn't one of them die? Or am I mistaken them for someone else?

IMDWalrus [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 02:34:14 AM
You guys are taking this too seriously. I mean, after all...

I'm a New Kid on the Block
And though I may not be Johann Sebastian Bach
There's no need to be afraid of us...
though it just might be your daughter on our bus.

soupbone 2008-01-27 03:07:32 AM
Step 1 We can have lots of fun....

/Sad I know that but my sister played all the NKOTB shiat and I was forced to listen to it.
//Actually hated them with a passion because of it.

MakazeKeito 2008-01-27 03:20:35 AM
Eh, worse things have happened. With a Night Marchers release on the way, it'll be hard for me to lose my faith in music.

SlappyKincaid [TotalFark] 2008-01-27 03:38:01 AM
If there was a tour with New Kids, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer and had Color Me Badd opening, it would be so full of unbelievable WIN, I'd have to go just to relive my horrendous junior high past...

I might be confusing KNOBS with Backdoor Boys

LewDux 2008-01-27 05:37:19 AM
I hated them before they were popular

oryx 2008-01-27 08:47:01 AM
So, they're now Middle-aged Men on the Block?

imakidatheart 2008-01-27 10:17:00 AM
I saw a guy with a New kids on the block t-shirt on in a club in nuremberg germany last night, I couldn't help but laughing everytime he walked by.

/he was alone the whole night.

blueyd1 2008-01-27 11:02:10 AM
Okay, I loved them as much as any other 11-year-old girl, and even I think this is completely unnecessary.

/i was supposed to marry Joey
//damn, i feel old

calang 2008-01-27 11:25:38 AM
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened." I feel it only necessary to quote this
