(Wall Street Journal) Interesting President Bush broke the Republican Party into its three component parts, much like G.I. Joe did to Cobra's Weather Dominator. Now McCain and Romney head to Florida to battle over the Laser Core, unless Giuliani swoops in and steals it first   (online.wsj.com) divider line 52

I wouldn't blame the fracturing republican coaltion totally on Bushiathink Amerian's are just starting to realize that the Republican party in general, and Bush in particular, have no interest in the economic wellbeing of averge middleclass Americans.

I could barely get thru that article, it had, so many, comma's, and wierd, ways, of, breaking, the "flow of sentences," by including "quotes," within, sentences.

We begin, as one always must now, again, with Bill Clinton. The past week he has traveled South Carolina, leaving discord in his wake. Barack Obama, that "fairytale," is low, sneaky. "He put out a hit job on me." The press is cruelly carrying Mr. Obama's counter-jabs. "You live for it."

In Dillon, S.C., according to the Associated Press, on Thursday Mr. Clinton "predicted that many voters will be guided mainly by gender and race loyalties" and suggested his wife may lose Saturday's primary because black voters will side with Mr. Obama. Who is raising race as an issue? Bill Clinton knows. It's the press, and Mr. Obama. "Shame on you," Mr. Clinton said to a CNN reporter. The same day the Web site believed to be the backdoor of the Clinton war room unveiled a new name for the senator from Illinois: "Sticky Fingers Obama."

That's where I stopped reading, the term 'sticky fingers' makes me all sick inside, or maybe, it's, the over, use, of commas, like repeatedly, speeding up and, hitting the, brake, in a car.

Bloody William 2008-01-25 03:34:49 PM
So Bush is Cobra Commander, and Obama is (from a previous thread) some sort of weird liberal Serpentor.

Yo Joe! +1 to subby fer that retro-licious headline

FTFA: There are many serious and thoughtful liberals and Democrats who support Mr. Obama and John Edwards, and who are seeing Mr. Clinton in a new way and saying so. Here is William Greider in The Nation, the venerable left-liberal magazine. The Clintons are "high minded" on the surface but "smarmily duplicitous underneath, meanwhile jabbing hard at the groin area. They are a slippery pair and come as a package. The nation is at fair risk of getting them back in the White House for four years

Did the Nation just call Bill Clinton a cock-puncher?

Mr. Xhin: The three component parts of the Republican voting base are...

1. The Greedy (neocons, war profiteers, corporatists)

2. The Stupid (christian taliban, and the poor, useful idiots are fooled into voting against their own economic interests)

3. The Haters (klansmen, homophobes and other insecure white people. Much crossover with 2.)

I thought #3 were those with small/no penises that had to prove how manly they were by driving big trucks and supporting any damn foolish war that they could get their hands on.

The multi-part GI Joe series are:

1) The M.A.S.S. Device (original five-parter)
2) The Weather Dominator
3) The Pyramid of Darkness
4) Arise, Serpentor, Arise!
5) G.I. Joe: The Movie

You didn't miss much. I saw dozens of them at garage sales right around when I graduated high school. Or rather, the shattered shells of the things with dozens of pieces. The thing was essentially either a circle jerk for children in love with the show but actually a very big model that couldn't really have been played with effectively.

Somewhere in there, I'm sure you would force the true conservatives. I bet we are the greedy? No. I don't want the government's money or their regulations that help profiteers. The stupid? Maybe. We like to think that there is little the government can do that the private sector can do better. We also like to think the Constitution means something when it doesn't regardless of party. Or are we the haters? Because I don't want my taxes being paid to either American or foreign entities just to calm the nerves of those in the other 2 groups. Hmmm. Maybe it's time I leave the GOP and start my own party.

Psst...it's called the Libertarian Party, and if enough sane ex-Republicans move over, we can wrest it away from the Anarchists and make it a real party. :-)

There are at least four parts:
1: The Rockefeller Wing, or the libertarian wing. True classical conservatism lives here. Nowadays it gets shouted down a lot.

2: The country-club business-first wing. Just cut taxes, please.

3: The Limbaugh Neo-con wing, currently in charge and doing damage.

4: The Huckabee/Theocrat family-values-or-else wing. Cannot be allowed to gain control or it becomes a Christian Taliban.

They all have the country-club tenets in common, but the other three focus their efforts in drastically different directions. I would love to see the current system break down, giving us a tripartite (at least) national dialogue.

That would be the Goldwater wing, which was diametrically opposed to the now extinct Rockefeller wing. Other than that mistake you're dead on.

The anarcho-capitalists lost control of the Libertarian Party along time ago. Ed Clark, Ron Paul in 1988, Michael Badnarik- none of them were anarchists.

As a proud libertarian, who usually votes Libertarian, I don't think anyone coming into the party should view the An-Caps as the enemy. They provide a valuable viewpoint and agree 100% with the rest of us on where we need to go from here. They just disagree on where exactly we should stop once we get started cutting government.

/minarchist, but bordering on anarcho-capitalist at times
