I have a picture of me standing with Obama. I am sure that he wouldn't remember it. And he would not be lying if he said he had no "relationship" with me. Presidents and senators get their picture taken with strangers every damn day.

And as much as I hate Bush, I said the same thing when pictures of him with him and Abramoff surfaced, obviously taken at some fundraiser or other public event.

The picture doesn't mean anything, except you're all forgetting it's politics. Everything is worth something, because some idiot in Nevada will use ONLY that picture to decide he's voting for Obama (or, at least, not Clinton). And I guess ultimately, while it makes me sad, if it helps Obama get the nomination, I'm fine with it.

If the Clintons are not friends of Rezko as they claim, then at best there is only a half a degree of separation between them.

Allison Davis was the head of the law firm where Obama cut his lawyer teeth. Davis handled rezko related stuff while at the firm, then left the firm to join Rezko in his failed housing projects venture, and his name is likely to be all over Rezko's trial

"Flashback: Sept. 19, 2004, at a big-ticket fund-raiser for Senate Demoratic candidates, including Obama, in the stunning Kenwood mansion of former Obama law partner Allison Davis and his wife Susan. The headliner was none other than Hillary Clinton."

It's like this after the primaries most likely there will only be Clinton or Obama as the Democratic candidate.

If most of those who wanted to see Hillary or Obama won't vote for the other, then Mitt Romney will be our next president.

If you fine with that, well ok. But think of the consequences before unfairly attacking someone.

Can we talk about what issues candidates are FOR?

FTFA: Clinton in all three network morning show interviews stayed briskly on message, focusing on standing up to the Republicans and solving problems

The biggest problem she has to solve is to decide which of her surrogates is gonna smear Obama next? Maybe one of her Clinton News Network folks? Someone on the NYT?

Actually we know Ambramoff met with Bush and Karl Rove in the White House several times. I doubt they were all just photo ops. We just don't know exactly how many times because Bush ordered the Secret service to destroy all the sign in sheets. I wonder why? I wonder if anybody will dig up some meetings between Clinton and Rezko?

Corvus: If most of those who wanted to see Hillary or Obama won't vote for the other, then Mitt Romney will be our next president.

I think most Hillary supporters would vote for Obama if he got the nomination. I'm not so sure about Obama supporters and Hillary. I know, for one, that I will probably hold my nose and vote for her if she's up against most of the Republican clowns (though McCain is probably actually a decent guy). Many independents who have supported Obama probably would vote for McCain over Hillary.

If you fine with that, well ok. But think of the consequences before unfairly attacking someone.

I do think this is somewhat unfair, but I do think it's pretty justified given that her attack on Obama for the Rezko thing seems pretty unfair too (and I've read quite a bit about it). Basically, she seems to be going for guilt by association, or at least planting that idea in the minds of voters without actually getting into the details of what happened. If that's the game she wants to play then I think it's fair game for the media or Obama to bring this picture up. There are so much worse things in her past that Obama could be going after Hillary for, and is not out of restraint. I doubt the GOP will be so civil should she make it to the general election. They are obviously holding their fire currently in the hopes of assisting her with securing the nomination; once she does, the right-wing smear machine will kick into overdrive. Make no mistake: the Republicans are GOOD at running smear campaigns.

Migaloo 2008-01-25 02:19:18 PM
Hilary the important thing is, how do we go forward with the issues.

Translation: Hilary; I'd really like to evade this question at this time. It's difficult to come up with a sufficient lie to cover one of Bill's chief lobbyist and campaign contributors. Let us now focus on issues more distracting and less defamatory to my deceitful intent.

Tell that to Hillary Clinton and her campaign managers. Why is it okay for her and her husband to smear another Democrat?

We shouldn't help them, but she's gone negative and Obama has to respond.

Her claims that she was "attacked first" boohoo...are total complete bullshiat. She has been sliming Obama for quite some time and the instant he points this fact out, she says she's being attacked. She makes up total crap like "35 years of experience" which makes no sense at all, uses surrogates and volunteers on her campaign to do all sorts of dirty campaign tactics, and then literally cries when some of that pressure comes back on her.

If you prefer President McCain, nominate Hillary. If her supporters can't see the right wing machine foaming at the mouth to run against her, they are blind. Hell, they don't even like McCain, but they'll vote for him as a vote against Hillary. So will many moderates and independents.

When Hillary says she's taken on the vast right wing conspiracy, she never says "in a national campaign." She'll get slaughtered.

I can tolerate a McCain presidency, though I'll probably dislike most of the people he'll nominate to executive posts. So, I really don't care.

It's up to you. You can either have President McCain, or President Obama. Hillary, no matter what she or the press think, has no chance in hell.

Gun nuts must be going crazy over these choices.

You're absolutely right. Anyone with any sense at all knows that political adversaries are true-life sworn enemies. Therefore, a picture of Obama with the Clintons proves he is a fake and a liar, and destroys his candidacy.

and again when Richard Mellon-Scaife's right-wing smear machine attacked. And Again, largely because of her stubborness and insitance on stonewalling, she managed to look incredibly guilty even though she really had nothing to hide. And right now, with a disastrous war abroad, and an economy in a death-spiral here at home, that's JUST what we need, another stubborn leader whose first instinct is always fight tooth and nail rather than compromise.

No But when A candidate attacks another for having done 5 farking hours of legal work for this guy; it implies that he's so sleazy, so radioactive that mere association with him is unethical and wrong.

When a picture then surface of you standing next to the exact same guy smiling ear to ear (and mostly likely you are at a fundraiser) you look like a total tool.

Yes, he's under indictment. A lot of Hillary's business partners and such over the years are convicted felons. Is she guilty by association too? Because she was a lot more involved with a number of felons than Obama was with Rezko.

Please explain how Obama got a "sweetheart" deal for the strip of land he purchased from Rezko. Be specific, and include details about why it was unethical.

The so-called "sweetheart deal" is an easement that allows Obama's driveway to cut across some vacant land owned by Rezko, basically what you'd do for any neighbor who asked.
