it's not them--the clintons are the most focused and most talented politicians of their generation who have a compulsive need for attention and power. this is how they campaign and win office--they attack and will never give up

JFC! I am so sick of the media stoking this racial thing it farking pisses me off.

Seriously, Bill Clinton was the president most interested in advancing racial equality and addressing the concerns of blacks since LBJ. EITHER democrat would be a hundred times better than whoever wins the "old white dude vs. middle age white dude vs. other middle age white dude" contest going on in the other party.

But nooo. The media "OMG some ppl are chix AND black, who should they vote for?" Shut the fark up. They should vote for the person who they think would be the best president. Just like you LOUDOBBSWOLFBLITZERANDERSONCOOPERBRITTHUME!

A president that will think through bad situations and make an honest assessment of how to make them better?

In the primaries maybe but come general election time in Novemeber Hillary is going to need those black voters to show up in mass for her. They are likely going to sit at home now and watch her lose the election. She is shooting her self in the foot with these tactics. Her only way to get blacks to vote for her now is to get Obama on the ticket as her VP and I doubt either of them want that after the race getting so personal.

No. It's about completely bullshiat controversies manufactured by the media. Oh look, one prominent person of color says she doesn't like Clinton saying this and some other guy from a "black think tank" sort-of agrees with her.

I'm just saying that this whole thing is BS created by the media more interested in controversy and ratings than in actually reporting on anything that's really happening.

I thought she did take the easiest course of action given that her end goal was to become president...If she had divorced Bubba, it would have been a lot more difficult to get up to the level where she is today.

/They had a secret agreement - "Don't leave me Hill...I need ya...tell you what, don't divorce me, and we'll make YOU president one day!"

Hillary would have dropped Bill in a split second without thinking twice about it if she could have afforded to and there was no way she could have. You think she did the "difficult" thing? No, she did the only thing she could do and still be able to run for president.

Obama has avoided badging himself the black candidate from the get-go.

The Clintons are certainly playing the race card on a daily basis in order to try and paint Obama as being THE black candidate.

These new all black 527s that Barack never authorised or approved of are doing the same thing suspiciously enuff.

Whether or not the electorate is bright enuff to see behind the curtain is certainly a valid topic of discussion but to claim that Barack has positioned himself as "the black candidate" is unfair.

He's not the best black man for the job.

He's the best person for the job. Period.

Anybody asking Hillary if she's white enuff or too white?

Nobody should vote for Obama (or against him) because he's black.

Everybody should vote for him because he's the best and the brightest and also b/c his nomination/election will bring down the house of Clinton for good, the same way Dumbya has brought down the house of Bush and then America can start becoming something that resembles a real democracy rather than a two party dictatorship with monarchal/ dynastic tendencies.

Supporting a Bush or Clinton ever again is to call for the death of democracy in America.

Dynasty equals Die Nasty as far as democracy is concerned.

I aint wit it!

keithgabryelski: Hey -- so, you think Hillary should have divorced Bill?

No opinion as to whether or not she should have divorced him. I'd divorce my wife in a heartbeat if she cheated on me. No, really... but her choice is none of my business.

I don't think her decision indicates that she's:

A president that knows what a promise is (marriage)?

A president that will think through bad situations and make an honest assessment of how to make them better?

A president that will not take the easiest or expedient course of action that is damaging when another course, be it difficult but doable, is available?

She could just as easily have been hanging on because her husband was president of the United Farking States. Had she divorced him, the closet fundies would never vote for her... just my theory, but it holds water.

It holds as much water as my conclusion -- and my conclusion has the advantage of matching her stated intentions.

Basically -- There doesn't seem to be any useful reason to believe she is lying about her reasons for not divorcing Bill.
Even if you are correct, that part of her reason was her inability to continue her desired career path, I don't see much issue with that.

My point, as i noted before, is at least my assertion fits her description of the reason she did not divorce, Bill.

My assertion is not quite that bare.

You can certainly believe she is lying about the subject but that requires a little more evidence than I've seen anyone suggestion (and you don't get to beg the question).

keithgabryelski:

Hey I agree, there are no useful reasons to to believe she's lying about her reasons for staying with Bill. In fact, I never asserted she was lying, I pointed out the more politically practical reasons for her to stay with her cheating husband to merely intimate that she is likely lying. There's a big difference. One comes out and states opinion as fact, another merely points to reasons why the stated version might not represent the truth.

Either way, I really don't care. My original point is that her staying with her husband in no way asserts that these qualities, which I will post AGAIN so that they aren't ignored...

A president that knows what a promise is (marriage)?

A president that will think through bad situations and make an honest assessment of how to make them better?

A president that will not take the easiest or expedient course of action that is damaging when another course, be it difficult but doable, is available?

... Aren't at all likely outcomes of her experience, and in fact are demonstrably false attributes to Ms. Clinton, who is an excellent politician, and that isn't high praise.
