They'll start speculating who will win Iowa in 2009. Media fatigue, anyone?

caknuck: robsul82, Texas if full of black and Hispanic voters, so it's not unlikely that Obama will win here. The trick is getting out that vote...

...and through the voter caging.

In '04 the Repugs sent out mass mailings to minority voters telling them that their polling station and date had changed, and redirected them (en masse, mind you) to go to the new polling station...the day after the elections were actually being held.

I'm from PA, and a nearby Wines and Spirits was opened on Sunday for one day only. They had big signs everywhere promoting it, but I have no idea how or why the did it.

Can anyone tell me what happens to the delegates that Edwards has already won (or anyone else for that matter) when he drops out? Are they just free to go to whomever they want?

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Also, Hillary has never been popular here. Then again, pretty much everyone I know is voting for Ron Paul, so I don't really have my finger on the pulse of the state.

I've talked to a lot of people down here who say that is who they are voting for. Even some republicans who are just tired of the way things are right now. Will they actually do it? Who knows, but considering that I have never even seen an ad for him, he has caused quite a stir.

Whenever I'm in San Antonio, Texas I always order a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream on it.

The waitresses there never forget the order and always deliver it just as I requested.

Forget the a'la mode? In Texas? THAT aint on the menu!

*ducks*

Bad jokes aside fer a moment Quatchi knows that Obama has a big following in Austin but is unsure how the rest of Texas feels about the guy.

/Kinda ambivilant about Texas, really.

I'm not sure where in PA you guys are, but here in Harrisburg, there are several State stores open every Sunday from noon till 5. Maybe it's because it's Harrisburg and there is nothing to do here...but still...

I'm trying to figure out if Missouri is part of the Super Tuesday thing. I've not had anything to go vote on in 14 months, and I'm getting impatient.

Pennsylvania deciding a primary race? We're thirty-ninth on the list of state primaries by date, and we won't vote until farking April. I'll believe it when I see it, subby.

As for the state stores, Sunday hours will vary. Luckily for me, New Jersey is just a fairly short drive away.

I'm in Fort Worth. And yes, I know remote is the operative word here. All of the large cities here are split pretty evenly, except Austin which is decidedly blue. It is definitley exciting for me though, I've never seen (3rd presidential election, I just missed 96) so much interest in a democratic candidate.

El Paso is also blue.

the problem for Obama in Texas isn't white Democrats. it's hispanic Democrats.

it's built into mestizo culture that lighter is better than darker -- conqueror is better than conquered -- and many hispanics expect blacks to be lower down on social totem pole. (not that there are a lot of totem poles in South and West Texas, but i digress.) hispanics and latinos will be much more comfortable electing a rich, old white-lady than they will a relatively young, black male. that's not a pleasant fact but it's the way it is. and i'm surprised that the talking-heads aren't talking more about it.

Obama is going to have a hard time winning the nomination in the southwestern states facing the fork of women voting with their vagina and hispanics' disdain for blacks.

now in the General Election, if he gets there, Obama might get back some of the hispanic vote against a Republican opponent; but hispanics breaking 2:1 or 3:1 for Hilary might be a back-breaker in the primaries.

It is. If you were registered to vote by Jan. 9 then you will be able to vote on Tues. Feb. 5.

Recall all Repuglikkans

Hillary showed in Nevada that she has the Hispanic vote locked up.

I believe locking Hispanics up is an important part of the GOP strategy as well.

I disagree with you. As a latino, I know far more hispanics in Texas who will be pulling for Obama. Hispanics that I know of generally see Black men as the same as them and prefer them over white's. This is just from what I see and hear though.

Just did a quick search on the LCB website for you and I found these stores near you open on Sundays:

West Shore Plaza Shop Ctr
1200 Market St
Lemoyne, PA

Suite 350
6560 Carlisle Pike
Mechanicsburg, PA

Carlisle Marketplace
281 S Spring Garden St
Carlisle, PA

I normally go to the Lemoyne one since that is a Premium Wine store.

well, i'm not saying it applies to everyone, and especially not among the younger and better educated; but i think you'll see it reflected in exit polls... i forget the Nevada numbers, but i think it was 3:1 in favor of Clinton.

Thanks! I usually head to one in either Shiremanstown or on Simpson Ferry in Mechanicsburg proper. I'll have to check those out.
