I saw Astrud Gilberto at SOB's in NYC about ten years ago, and it was an amazing concert. Forget her age, she is such a seductive singer every man in that room and half the women would have dumped their spouse and left with her. Definitely catch her show if you can.

I was born and raised in Brazil. When it comes to women, I think that on average, American women are more attractive. But a good-looking Brazilian woman is just dynamite. I didn't like my odds there, so I bailed!

I gotta agree with bv2112. My wife and I stayed on Punta do Arpoador, between Ipanema and Copacabana, and the good-looking Brazilian women would make even her turn her head. But it seemed most of the women's skin suffered from too many cigs and too much sun, and ended up looking like it should have laces and Mizuno stamped on it.

Yeah, I saw her in Milwaukee a few years back, and nearly died. She slunk across the stage. I couldn't believe a human could move like that. She was smoldering, and this was from 50 yards away. I can't imagine getting close to her -- I'd worry about spontaneously combusting.

Damn good singer, too. One of those shows you never forget.
