Geebus, hit the playlist of that subscriber and you'll get the entire show. Looks like I won't be getting any work done this morning.

The day after I move into college, Little Feat played a free show at Woodstock Park back at home and I had no money to get back home to see it. To say in the least I was pissed I missed a free Little Feat show.

I'm conflicted. while I really like Little Feat, especially this song, considering how many times I have submitted it with no results, I'm kinda angry.

Awww yeah, Little Feat for the win. Good stuff

Too bad I wasn't around to see them in their prime. I refuse to go see the remnants touring with a replacement lead singer.

And Waiting For Columbus is one of the best live albums ever recorded.

/Lowell George ruled.

Actually they weren't bad with Craig Fuller (Pure Prairie league, i.e. Aimee), But I agree with you for the most part. Lowell George said that was the song that got him fired from The Mothers Of Invention.

Good to see people liking the Feats. I still see them regularly, but I must say after Craig left they should have just carried on without replacing him. I like Shaun Murphy, but she seems a touch out of place.

/Didn't really like Craig either
//Oversang everything, yet was still lazy while doing it

They were OK with Fuller, but he always suffered in comparison with Lowell George.

I saw the Feats in '75 when they were touring behind The Last Record Album (my favorite of theirs) and again in '78 when they were not really supporting an album, but had gotten on the touring treadmill. The difference was apparent to me - both were good shows, but George seemed tired and at times indifferent in '78. Wasn't at all surprised when he quit the band soon after.

As for Fuller, well, I got in the habit of buying the LPs and recording only those songs with Barrere singing onto cassettes for the car. By the time Shaun Murphy came into the picture, they had evolved into a party band and I had lost interest. Last song I put on a mix CD was Under The Radar from '98.

I did see them two years ago when they played a small club on the Outer Banks - hired by a wealthy local to play for his birthday. I managed to wrangle an invitation and even talk to the original band members during a break. They were surprisingly upbeat and friendly and even autographed my hat. I have it framed and hanging in my office. For Barrere, Hayward, and Payne, life is more about studio work and less about touring with the Feat. Gradney spends a lot of time at home in New Orleans. Clayton apparently makes enough from his Feat shows to spend time doing nothing and teaching the occasional class.

Nice guys all around. But without Lowell George, it's just another party band playing the larger clubs and smaller concert venues. I say that as someone who kept The Last Record Album on his car cassette player until it wore out. I've got a lot of respect for their musical ability, but George's idiosyncratic character really made the band, much as Duane Allman's leadership made that band. Without that spark, well, it's just not as interesting.

There used to be a club in Bethesda MD called "The Psychedeli" where the band would come and play in the mid 70's. Good times.

Stay the hell off my lawn!

And all this time I thought it was weed, wax and wine. Wow.

This is so weird. I just watched The Abyss last night for the first time in years and totally forgot about the part where they all sing this song.

First time I noticed how much Jay Farrar's voice reminds me of Lowell George...

Awesome video. Best live Little Feat I've seen. You're all right about Waitin' For Columbus, too.
