Bloody teenagers!

Always knew terrorism was the direct result of Musharef not telling the terrorists to Get off his lawn!

Well, that's that then.

Let the rejoicing begin!

I don't see why a 15 year old couldn't be as involved as anyone else. I'd guess in the tribal regions of Pakistan they don't extend childhood into the early 20's like we do here.

Indeed.

Anyways, this is one of those things where, in the minds of Farkers, the Pakistani gov't is damned if they do, damned if they don't..

If they don't look for or arrest anyone, they were complicit in the assassination, they don't care about democracy, they are tribal animals going around shooting each other.

If they do, they are inhumane, they are pinning it on whoever they can, he's a patsy, or whatever other theory.

It's a museum called... 'The Assassination Museum'. I think they named that after the assassination. I can't be too sure of the chronology here but... Anyway they have the window set up to look exactly like it did on that day. And it's really accurate, you know, cos Oswald's not in it. "Yeah, yeh so wow that's cool." Painstaking accuracy, you know. It's true, it's called the 'Sniper's Nest'. It's glassed in, it's got he boxes sitting there. You can't actually get to the window as such but the reason they did that of course, they didn't want thousands of American tourists getting there each year going [Mimes looking out of window] "No farking way! I can't even see the road. shiat they're lying to us. fark!

Pakistan is unlikely to have peace any time soon, if all the good leaders get assassinated by nut jobs.

Funny how there's no leader "conservatives" won't support - no matter how corrupt, poorly spoken, dishonest, self-serving, and subservient to whims of foreign power - just so long as a continuous stream of verbal diarrhea about "democracy" dribbles out of their mouths.

Funny how there's no leader "liberals" won't support - no matter how corrupt, poorly spoken, dishonest, self-serving, and subservient to whims of foreign power - just so long as a continuous stream of verbal diarrhea about "entitlements" dribbles out of their mouths.

Anyone who thinks Pervez Musharraf (a military dictator) was not involved in the murder of Benazir Bhutto (his wildly popular political opponent) is gullible beyond belief.

Nice plan Musharraf; murder your opposition and pin it on a 15-year-old boy, which is much easier than framing an adult.

Bhutto herself told friends and family that if anything happened to her, Musharraf will be behind it.

True because:

Damned if they don't, because Musharraf is a ruthless dictator who probably had it done himself.

If they do, they are inhumane, they are pinning it on whoever they can, he's a patsy, or whatever other theory.

... and damned if they do because Musharraf is a ruthless dictator who probably had it done himself.

Basically, his credibility and that of his agencies is MUD. Nada, zilch. Except of course to his allies in the "free world". Not a very complicated situation.

Bacontastesgood 2008-01-20 02:28:06 PM
I realize this is like freshman dorm foreign policy, but why doesn't Musharraf just cordon off these areas that are under radical control and say "OK, that's your country, do whatever the fark you want with it", and then squeeze the few remaining nimrods out of legal and relatively sane Pakistan?

Then patch things up with India and usher in a thousand years of peace and prosperity, while new Jackistan descends into chaos and famine and all of the radicals die off.

Hey, don't bogart man, pass it on...

Bored Horde 2008-01-20 02:51:56 PM
donutbandit: Bhutto herself told friends and family that if anything happened to her, Musharraf will be behind it.

Because there isn't a huge population of tribal fundamentalists in Pakistan who hate Bhutto.

Keep in mind, we're talking about a leader who got run out on a rail for corruption. A politician corrupt enough to be shooed out of South Asia!

The truth is that Bhutto had hundreds of enemies in the region, and was a fool to go back. Her time was done in Pakistan, Mustache will be finished soon as well. Whatever direction Pakistan will head in in the next decade will not be determined by the old guard, but rather the conflict between the fundamentalist youth and the secular urban youth of Pakistan.

Much like Iran.

And much like Iran, there is a certainty that the fundamentalists will win if there is any amount of hostile foreign intervention.

Peaceful relations take years to cultivate, and moments to burn forever.

Good thing he's one of our partners in the war on terror. We can always point to his shining example when we try to explain why Iran is such an evil country or how Saddam was such an enemy of democracy.

\remembers when Musharraf took over in coup and the show trials that came after the fact

\\remembers how it didn't register even a tiny blip on American news networks at the time

FTFA Sunni extremists, who regard Shiites as heretics, often attack the community during Ashoura. On Thursday, 11 people died and 20 were injured in a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in the northern city of Peshawar.

One would, at some point, have to begin to realize that gathering at a mosque could be inviting catastrophe . God provides.
