Vodak...is there anything it can't do?

bitteroldman 2008-01-20 12:50:29 PM
When camping, its great for knocking down BO.
Even when you don't have blisters, a quick sock rinse and foot wipe down will keep away things like trench foot. (of course you have to let them dry before putting on your shoes)
Also, its a great mouthwash... four or five times a day...I've heard.

The second definition for 'vodak' in the Urban Dictionary is rather amusing.

Vodka is also good for getting sweat smells out of clothes you can't wash (i.e. costumes, wedding dresses, etc.).

I"m impressed that this woman is 61....but she's been doing this for 4 years?

kbarham 2008-01-20 03:51:26 PM
I've had more than one Vodak Moment in my life.

DO NOT question the meme! It is important to maintain Fark Group Identity if we are to win the war over Eurasia.

You see articles like this every now and then - Vodak cleans dishes, Vodak cures colds, Vodak heals blisters, Vodak does x, y, z.

Truth is, Vodka works as a cleanser, disinfectant, and medication MUCH WORSE than products that were intended for those purposes - and sometimes a good deal worse than just plain water.

If you've got NOTHING else, can you use 100 proof (50%) alcohol as a disinfectant for your blistered feet? Yes. But you'd be MUCH better off using an actual disinfectant.

Chances are it's because when you use Vodak, you have the option of taking a couple shots of it too, which seem to make the results appear much better. Awesome even.

Use 10 parts vodka, 1 part essential oils and you've got yourself a cheap air freshener that won't change fragrance over time.

Now I'm in the mood to drink Vodak and eat Ramon.

If you've got vodak, then there's no reason to walk around...

This is the third headline in the last month that has it spelt "vodak".

Is this an intentional cliche developing? Or are the submitters just idiots?

ZackDanger 2008-01-20 05:56:35 PM
I have never met this "Vodak"

But based on these tails of his miraculous healing powers, I would like to take this time to personally welcome our new alien overlord.

Long live Vodak!

quatchi 2008-01-20 06:06:16 PM
Traditionally Russian sailors always drank lots of Wodka in their navel wessels when sailing round the world.

/Yes, I was reading a little Checkov earlier. How did you know?

//Ha! South Park Colin Feral references rawk out loud!

As urban dictionary says:

vodak
Further proof that even the most idiotic brainfart can become a meme.
Typical FARK reader: "Vodak! LOL! It's funny and I don't know why! OMGWTFLOLBBQ"

Another handy thing to have when camping is a handful of these little plastic packets of lemon extract, they give away in fast food joints for iced tea.

You can dump a couple down your hiking boots to kill foot-stink, or slather it under your armpits to retard bacterial growth.

You can also use it as a fast body rub when washing is not practical, but you better not get it in yer crotch.

Lemoncrotch. Isn't that a band?

olddinosaur 2008-01-20 07:08:50 PM
No, "danger," "lemoncrotch" describes a woman who is blond where a girl is most girl, just as "firecrotch" describes one who is a redhead at both ends.

\\\ been there.

\\\ done that.

\\\ but only once each, they are rare.

Vodak + campfire = singed Farker.

Another cool link is RIGHT HERE: Link (new window) in which a hottie surfer girl is sailing round the world in a Cal 40.

You would hit it.

But I don't think she'd let you.

Likes to lead when she dances, catch my drift?

In that case ...

In my extensive research in various bars and nite clubs with random females, I have found vodka to work quite well as nylon remover.

It was submitted with the correct spelling.

It was changed because FARKers think "vodak" is a cool cliche based on one thread a while back. For some reason, they find the misspelling outrageously funny.
This is the same bunch that finds the prospect of a young woman killing herself funny, too.
