TFA His theory on why Texans love their trucks and SUVs? "The larger the car, the bigger you feel," he said.

Apparently, brains and penises are not bigger in Texas

The headquarters state of America's oil industry spewed 670 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in 2003, enough that Texas would rank seventh in the world if it were its own country
=======================

Jesus. That's horrible.

Thats a surprise. Its hard to imagine driving around without seeing some "patriot" in a texas edition f-350, without anyone else in the truck. These are the same farktards that drive right on the edge of my lane, inches away. They are also the ones that park their vanity trucks in 2 spaces.

Yeah, everythings bigger here, except IQ's it would seem. Im suprised I dont see more truck nutz...

I'm not even American but I know that California has something like 13 million more people than Texas. And lower carbon emissions.

What a bullshiat article. Of COURSE Texas puts out more carbon emissions...because we're a big farking state and we have a bunch of ugly ass refineries.

How about this for an article: Rhode Island puts out least amount of carbon emissions.

perhaps those refineries should be a little cleaner.

It is a scheme: dump enough carbon in to the air until the earth warms, the ice melts, and Louisiana finally gets washed in the Gulf of Mexico.

THEN, and ONLY THEN we can star working on Arkansas and Oklahoma in the same way.

/suck it, haters

For the loss. Texas is freaking huge so it takes a shiatton of gas to drive across it (and that includes travelers passing through as well as Texans.

Let's also not forget the fact that Texas refines pretty much all of the oil used by the rest of the country. Nope, oil refineries don't cause any pollution.

Let's all just pretend its those rednecks and their big trucks causing all our environmental problems, not like those dicks idling their Hummers for 6 hours on the 5 mile commute to work in places like DC.

/Do you get to use the HOV lane if your truck bed is full of illegal immigrants? I might have to take a few day laborers to the office with me in the future.
// I don't actually drive to work. I ride a bike or take the bus. Only have to fill up my car like once every 2 months.

TFA: "Texas is . . . is the leading producer of energy, has the largest refining capacity and has the largest petrochemical industry in the nation

Judging by the size of the average person I see in Texas, and the food they eat, I'd bet they're at the top of the list for methane emissions as well.

EL_FABREZ 2008-01-20 12:28:36 AM
Makes perfect sense, and I bet they're doing it on purpose. Think about it, the more carbon you put into the atmosphere the warmer it will get. Then the sea level will rise and water will move inland, making the border smaller to patrol.

So if global warming = less Mexicans in the US then they should get a tax credit for gas guzzlers.

Poor use of a al-Sahhaf (Baghdad Bob) image. His shtick was the refusal to admit defeat, comically trying to deny reality while the government he was the mouthpiece for was collapsing around him. He is the diametrical opposite of the "Chicken-Little" label you are trying to plant on scientists who consider carbon emissions to be harmful. If the man could be considered symbolic of anyone in the climate change "debate", it could only be as the voice of a powerful elite defending the status pro and insisting there is no cause of action in denial of all evidence to the contrary.

So whether the issue of industrial-related climate change is real or false (hint: it's real) your weak grasp of symbolic humor pretty much makes me think that your understanding of the actual issues is equally feeble.

Yeah that's a lot of it. Well, with a slight exception in Dallas and Austin, we don't have a really great sense of public transportation here.

There's a lot in central-ish Texas, but in general they're still like 100-200 miles apart. Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, then getting more south there's Houston and Galveston. Once you look at the area referred to as "east Texas" or "west Texas", there ain't a lot of anything.
