That explains a lot actually. People who would listen to Rush instead of NPR are ignorant and biased.

I don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat...fundamentalist Christian or athiest....how can anyone not see that Mitt Romney is everything conservatives used to hate: a flip-flopping opportunitst with no real convictions on any issue at all?

I listen to NPR - it's informative and is hosted by people who speak calmly and use rational voices.

Listening to Rush is not informative - it's listening to an angry, obsese millionaire who can do anything but speak calmly and be rational. All he does he scream and troll.

I used to listen to Rush from time to time. One thing he is not is angry.

Yeah he is totally biased and tells the listeners what he wants them to hear, but he's almost never angry. Usually jovial and very tongue-in-cheek.

McCain is "someone who supported amnesty for illegal aliens, who supported limiting free political speech, who embraced the ACLU's brief for terrorist detainees getting US constitutional rights," Limbaugh said

So one of the tenets of conservatism is that we imprison and torture people without charge?

fark you, Rush.

Koppin, an avid listener who created the official Facebook Fan Club of Rush Limbaugh online and has been a guest on the show four times, said she is "still not totally sold" on Romney. "I don't know if he's someone I can trust," Koppin said.

Let me translate:

Right-wing talk radio has been a joke lately (yes, even moreso than usual), with virtually every single one of them blatantly touting Romney without having the courage to admit he's their guy.

Romney morphs into whatever he needs to be in order to be elected. That's exactly what Republicans attack Democrats for.

We're not talking about some transformation several years ago from which he's never looked back; he's changed his position on major individual issues within the past year or two, in order to appear more conservative. He called McCain's position on immigration reform a "reasonable proposal" and "very different from amnesty" in 2005! Link

In Michigan he didn't sound like much of a conservative; he was saying big government is going to fix all your problems.

I want to believe that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham don't have that much influence over Republican voters. They haven't seemed to yet, in any of the primaries. (Again; Romney won Michigan by direct, big-government-bailout pandering.)

FTA: Rush Limbaugh, the cigar-chomping conservative stalwart, has been on a tear over the last few weeks, talking up Romney and taking whacks at John McCain and Mike Huckabee.

Since when is he a conservative.
More importantly, he did this to McCain in 2000. I remember listening to him for the last time and thinking 'why is he purposely throwing this guy under a bus? I'm done.' And I was. Asshat.

Anyhow, whether or not Rush endorses Romney, he's not getting the nomination. When the dittoheads are voting for someone else in the primaries how are you going to rationalize your failure and bigotry away then smitty?

Romney is also from (Michigan) and his father was a popular governor of Michigan.

True, but he's spent virtually no time in Michigan in decades. I think his win came from promises like "I'm going to fight for every job;" "I'm going to save and revitalize the automotive industry in Michigan;" and "I won't rest as president until Michigan makes an economic comeback."

Um, yeah. Save the Big Three automakers and the auto-related jobs in Michigan, Mr. President. I'm interested in how a conservative plans to do that on the federal government level.

And you know what the sad thing is is NO republican or person on the right will even challenge him. None will call him out on his BS. They all fall in line with him no matter how crazy his statements are.

The crazies of the Republican party have taken over and they label you as "liberal" if you don't drink their kool-aid. You either do exactly what they tell you or you are a "liberal" or "Rino".

They have started to turn their hate on themselves.

I'm mystified by the Republicans right now. Obviously, McCain is the best guy they have and represents the best shot they have against the Democrats.

Romney can't win, because he's a Mormon.

Oh, people might say it doesn't matter and it wouldn't affect their vote, but when the curtain slides shut, most people will vote against a Mormon. Just wait until September and November when the anti-Mormon stuff gets going. People will be going on about Huitzilopochtli and Aztecs and mysterious disappearing golden tablets and polygamy and all the rest and Romney will get slaughtered.

RushBo practically endorses Mittens?

Lesee now... McCain is likely to be half dead or asleep by the time the election rolls around and Mittens is an actual Christo-fascist not the pretend kind that "real" conservatives pander to fer votes and bucks.

Guess that really only leaves the disingenous Mitt.

Wot do the DittoheadZ say?...

"Rush is right," Haygood said yesterday. "He goes after Huckabee and McCain because, hell, they're both libs in Republican outfits."

His wife, Susan, heartily agreed.

"He actually follows facts," she said. "I listen to him and I'm shocked how much he knows."

Ha! America is soooo doomed.

If it's Romney v Clinton I will lose all faith in our system. Yes, people say that a lot. I know, "you should have lost faith years ago". But I've remained optimistic.

But there is a chance that it could be Obama vs Huckabee or McCain. Now I like Obama. I'm not big on Huckabee or McCain. But those two would actually be leaders and you'd know what they represented.

Romney and Clinton are the biggest whores running. It would be another "There isn't a real choice" election.

"He's like the NPR for conservatives."

vartian: I find that statement so amazingly offensive in every way possible.

You listen to Rush on the radio, because he provides information and perspective you fell that you won't get from the mainstream media. Ditto for NPR.

If you so desire, you can support Rush by paying for membership, which gets you some free swag, a sense of superiority to the non-paying audience, a certain amount of cachet in some social circles, and likely puts you in a database which is sold off to third parties. Ditto for NPR.

The really big difference is in the advertising. NPR's corporate sponsorship is subtler, and comes from the likes of Archer Daniels Midland, The Pew Charitable Trust, Merck, Edward Jones, and various local upscale boutique merchants.

Rush features ads from the likes of Sleep Number beds, General Steel Metal Buildings Inc, Damp-Rid, Joint-Ritis, Lumber Liquidators, various psiorasis and baldness "cures", and assorted "make an executive income using your computer at home, selling items you don't have to buy, stock, or ship yourself" scammers.

I listen to both NPR and Rush regularly. NPR is generally more even-handed (well OK, except for Daniel Schorr) and more informative. They provide roughly equal entertainment value, although the style of entertainment is obviously quite different.

Rush is a master entertainer, and he knows exactly what he's doing. He is not really a slack-jawed, mouth-breathing true believer who honestly knows in his heart that George W Bush was personally appointed by Jesus to smite the Muslims, gays, illegal immigrants, feminists, and other assorted liberals who are destroying America.

For that, you have to listen to Hannity.

At night, Rush probably dreams of being Fred Phelps.
