FTFA: In a photo next to the words of praise, Hrbacek's body is spoken for by the torso of an appreciably slimmer man.

Eat yer heart out Jenny Craig.

Bet Mike Huckabee feels stupid now, eh?

Mikey actually went to the trouble of dropping over a hundred pounds of ugly fat.

/too bad that last ten pounds beteen his ears just won't go away

I like the last paragraph of the Farking Article:

Blakemore, whose clients have included U.S. Senate and House members, said there is no law against the practice "other than the laws of gravity; the negative effect on your polling numbers and popularity when you do such things."

Heh.

Anyone who still expects any degree of honesty from a politician is an idiot.

Well, part of the dems strategy in 06 was to run young, pretty/handsome candidates.

Are we electing Prom king/Queen or people to make laws?

Being in the business of photoshopping people, events, places, etc, this happens everyday and is really no big deal. Some people just don't have enough to biatch about.

Well, if you're going to get yourself photoshopped, at least get yourself photoshopped WELL.

A few months ago we had a candidate for a local office come in and request some campaign materials. The photo which he provided me was very dark, looked like it was taken indoors without a flash. He requested I "clean it up" and use it on the cards. Since he is a VERY heavyset guy I took the opportunity to slim his neck/jowls down a bit and remove the rotten bananas beneath his eyes. The photo turned out incredible, considering the original.

For the next promo piece they did, I was asked to use the original photo instead of the 'shopped one.

/WTF?
//He lost

You'd think Hillary would have thought of this first.

It's a bit extreme to swap torsos, but... more mild editing is hardly uncommon when photographing non-famous people. Most clients probably don't want pores and pimples showing up in their wedding photos, for instance -- and if you use a soft-focus filter, you're sacrificing lots of detail, not just skin imperfections. Annoy the client by making him look uglier than he wants to portray himself, and perhaps you've cost yourself some prints and gotten some bad word-of-mouth.

/Corollary: professional photographers should be careful how they pose "big-boned" clients.
