Featuring a young and svelte Ike Willis on vocals.

This song could serve as an anthem to an army of Farkers.

I've got it
I'll be sullen and withdrawn
I'll dwindle off into the twilight realm
Of my own secret thoughts

All I ever really wanted to do was play the guitar and bend the string like "Reent-too-teent-too-ree-too-ree-noo-nee-noo-nee".....

Now is time for all the rush haters to talk about how much they love zappa, its what the kids that think they are cool do.

What if I like Rush AND Zappa? Did I just cause a rip in the space/time continuum?

Most likely you did, if you like good music you cant like rush apparently since they are their worst band of all time according to them.

I like zappa ok, but it seems people use him as an source to claim they like good music when they really have shiat taste in music

I'm a huge Zappa nut, and I like some Rush in moderate doses. So, you ain't the only one.

But then again, my musical tastes are eclectic, to say the least. Life's too short to limit yourself to what the cool kids like.

GibbyTheMole: I'm a huge Zappa nut,

I'm a huge fan of a very specific segment of his career. I don't love the Mothers era (I can see that there are things that are amazing about the music, but I don't enjoy listening to it very much)....same for his late-career neo-classical stuff.

But the late 70s through the 80s....wow. Amazing stuff

Zappa is far and away better then rush, hands down no question. Zappa is not my favorite, though I do enjoy a fair amount of his work, specifically jazz from hell. It has nothing to do with "cool kids", which may be the weakest argument in the history of arguments. What you imply is: if you dont jerk off to rush you are a musical poser, who only likes to fake good taste. I guess that is one way to go about it, the other would be to assume that some people just don't like rush, as some just dont like Zappa, and much to your chagrin penis size does not ever get envolved. So do us all a favor, stfu, go listen to rush, jerk it and then diaf. That would be swell.

/x* > rush

I love Frank's jazz-fusion stuff ala The Grand Wazoo and Hot Rats. Also about two years ago, "Imaginary Diseases" was released and its a great listen from his tours supporting The Grand Wazoo.

Zappa is the only musician who's entire (published AFAIK) discography I own. Thanks subby, hadn't heard/seen this version.

ThePuceGuardian, I hadn't heard/seen that version either. It certainly goes into my favorites. Thanks buddy.

Slap a bushy moustache and imperial on Geddy, and he may start to look familiar. Ugliness, ugliness, Frank you're my buddy...

Maybe looks but not talent. Can't really compare someone who can mix Webern and 50's doo-wop to a 3 chord wonder.....

I didn't get into Zappa until I was 30. I regret not getting into his music sooner.

I managed to see Frank on the 1988 tour here in Vermont. I had been a big fan since the first time a buddy played Billy The Mountain for me and I listened to everything he released over the years (love Sheik Yerbouti and Joe's Garage). Incredible composer, musician & guitar player.

I've liked Rush since their first album. Saw them back when they were opening for other bands.
