She should have a big picnic with fried chicken and malt liquor.

This could seriously hurt her. I believe her primary aim in fanning the flames of race was to try to box Obama into a corner, painting him as a typical black-issues candidate like Jackson or Sharpton.

But Obama called for a truce after only a day or two of bickering, and she was forced to accept. She won't dare make race an issue again, and Obama certainly isn't going to stir that pot again.

The race war wasn't long enough to benefit Clinton There wasn't enough time to really damage his credibility with white voters, but certainly enough damage was done to alienate a lot of black voters. I don't think the mean-spirited comments by Bob Johnson or Charlie Rangel went over well with black voters.

Basically, she drove a lot of voters into his camp while barely siphoning off any votes from him. Brilliant!

Clinton is going to be in a lot of trouble if Obama walks away with both Nevada and South Carolina. I wouldn't count her out entirely, she may be able to convincingly cry again before Feb 5. But it won't be a good sign.

Haha, good headline.

Also, this is too little too late. She and Bill promoted Johnson's ridiculous "I was talking about his time as a community organizer" explanation (Johnson even said that any other interpretation was "irresponsible and incorrect") for a while until they realized nobody was buying it and it was starting to hurt her image. It was an obvious attempt to frame the primary in terms of race and marginalize Obama as "the black candidate", and when Obama didn't take the bait it started to turn on her.

FTA:
``I know something about birthing,' Clinton said. ``You need a president who will be a partner. Who says, 'What is it I can do to make sure this birth is easy and successful?''

UGH.

``A lot of our young people, disproportionately young people of color, are in our prison system and they don't belong there. They are nonviolent offenders,' she said to applause. ``I believe strongly that when someone has served his or her time - her debt or his debt to society - then they ought to have the slate wiped clean.'

This makes no sense. She says they don't belong in prison, but then goes on to talk about what should happen after they get out of prison. Plus, this is all coming from a candidate who criticized Obama for opposing mandatory minimum sentences, criticized his "liberal voting record on criminal defendant rights" (like how he passed legislation to require police interrogations be videotaped to prevent abuse and coerced confessions) and opposed retroactivity of new crack sentencing guidelines.

Granted, Obama isn't exactly out there crusading against the war on drugs, but Clinton looks a lot more like Giuliani than a democrat when it comes to these issues. This is just another example of her saying exactly what a crowd wants to hear.

Bonus points: the Rangel comments came out shortly after Clinton released a "truce" statement.

``But he is an extraordinary man and has so much to give our country. I hope however this works out he will be a major figure in American politics for years and years to come.'

Translation: "What the #&@* do you think you're doing? This is MY turn! Your turn is later! Go away!"

Johnson initially denied he was talking about Obama's drug use, saying he was referring to the Illinois senator's days as a community organizer.

Saying Johnson, "I honestly thought people were dumber than a box of hammers. This was a judgment error on my part, and in no way reflects on the crack pipe smoking pimp from Illinois. Continue to watch the fine programing on BET."

Looks like South Carolinas going to Obama and perhaps Nevada too. Super Tuesday is going to make or break both campaigns though. I think this backlash from a misconstrued comment has cost Hillary just enough to lose South Carolina. It is a shame Hillary's record was not sufficient to dispel an obvious spurious attack.

Ignorance has reared its head and is being cultivated to smear the truth. It is a pity Hillary has to lose to underhanded race baiting tactic.

In Compton, Clinton praised King and promised to assist with this city's rebirth.

Did she get to meet the crazy nagga named Ice Cube?

The Clintons are far from done playing the race card. Here is an article that explores how the Clinton campaign is using race:

In my opinion, the article is spot on. As a former Clinton supporter, this whole thing depressing.

You make Hillary sound so one-dimensional. I'm sure she'll play the sex card, too.

/And what, you don't like old people? Is that why you are voting for Obama?
//Prejudiced against New Yorkers, huh?

A well-deserved shower of hammers and broken glass for Jennifer, if you please?
This is exactly what Obama's been facing with these relentless, pernicious smears. Clinton surrogate releases some obnoxious innuendo into the wind, Obama's people forced to respond to it, pundit expresses disappointment in Obama's 'injecting race and gender into the campaign'. Lather, rise, repeat.

Yeah, but it's not a surprise seeing how thin her record is.

That's just too ironic for words.

FTA: "Obama is running to be the first black president."

Fark you, Beth Fouhy. Obama is running to be president, he just happens to be black. Unlike Clinton who is running to be the first *something* president.

To extend the phrase Hillary would use ANY card. She'd even use dice and monopoly pieces.
