FTFA: "Whether the new songs will become as legendary as their classics "Anarchy in the UK", "God Save the Queen", "Pretty Vacant", and "Holidays in the Sun" remains to be seen. Very few bands have taken a long hiatus and reformed to make successful 'new' classic tunes."

Who cares if it's "Classic" as long as it's good? Stairway to Heaven may well be Led Zeppelin's most famous song, but that doesn't make it their best.

I know... they look about as punk as the cast of Star Trek now.

It'll sell even if it sucks, based on name recognition alone.

The fact that they're finally coherent enough to actually tour descent sized venues, doesn't hurt either.

They should name the new album "Never Mind The Music, This Is My Retirement Fund".

How many of them are still alive?
Maybe they can team up with some other bands and to a "Grandfathers of punk" tour.

/I'd pay to see that.

All of them.

No talent Sid Vicious was brought in to replace talented Glenn Matlock who wasn't punk enough. The talented ones are all still alive.

Anybody ever see the "Rock n' Roll Swindle/Who Killed Bambi?" movie?
My Uncle lent me the soundtrack about 7 years ago.... it was ok... i thought their debut was better.

Matlock, Jones, and Cook may be rock 'n roll but Lydon is pure pantomime.

/liked Public Image Ltd with Wobble and Levene

Thems you posted aren't punk, I think we'll all agree.

There's nothing less punk than a reunion tour, record, etc. If they had anything relevant to play or say, they wouldn't need to reform a decades old group. They'd do something new.

Um, that's exactly what the article says they are doing. Something new.

SniffSharpies, Archie Godwin:, Boritom, TommyymmoT, Brown Jenkems, etc. etc.

New Pistols will be way farking more fun than your whining (tho anything sounds better than current corporate radio.)

Setting aside band names, John's output has been quite fine all along.

Try "Best of the British 1s" if you're too crabby to listen to me.

NP. It's only worth a netflix if you wanna see Malcolm naked. The only cool part is the animation sequence.

Well, I usually defends them to the death here but frankly, no rock band should be recording rock music at that age. And expect something that would be more than just ok.

And just ok really means shiat, doesnt it?....

no no no everything was said with NEVER MIND THE... , so leave it at that

Well, live...let's see and hear...

Sex Pistols: Anarchy in the U.K., Live 1977

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICXdQR1VVhw

Sex Pistols: EMI, Live 2003 (I saw them that year*)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT_Q4uu_ag4

Now as far as new studio material, it could go either way. But Lydon and Jones are very, very good in the studio. Lydon with his solo stuff and Jones with the Avengers and Iggy Pop work (many others too). Matlock is a talented plus also.

/* Atlantic City, they farkin' rocked.

ya know what I have seen that so many times elsewhere I forgot it was on there... and I have to admit since I am not a Sid fan it is personally not my favorite. But you are correct, and I would have mentioned it if I had remembered.

Is "current corporate radio" really the metric the Sex Pistols' output should be judged by? There are plenty of great, new and current, non-corporate punk bands (and other genres) out there doing new stuff that is worth supporting instead of the reformed Sex Pistols, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, etc. I'd rather support something new than a bunch of has-beens doing it because of fame.

Thats the problem with kids now a days. There isn't a specific "look" or "dress code" to Punk Rock, children. If you grew up back then might understand a little better. I am not going to sit here and insult all the Green Day punkers etc... but you guys should realize its a way of expression, not a way to dress. Sorry if they dont fit what you to believe is punk rock, that the point. The Sex Pistols are one of the Top 10 Best/Most Influential Bands of all time!

/Get of my farkING LAWN children!
