Mustaine can play very fast on guitar, but he's not a great guitarist. He's a god amongst suburban garage bands from 1986, but the rest of us have moved on. Knowledge of music, creating actual melodies, intonation, extemporaneous ability, and staying within the time signature are all important aspects of guitar playing, and Dave is a master at none of these.

Megadeth is a good band. Dave should and has a right to be proud of his accomplishments. However, pride is one of the seven deadly sins and he is damn boastful.

I believe that Dave may have written every note on every instrument for Megadeth on their albums after "Countdown to Extinction". They're not very exciting instrumental parts. Not like the parts on "Rust in Peace" and "Peace Sells".

I saw Megadeth in concert a few months ago, on Dave's daughter's birthday. She came out on stage and the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to her. It was pretty sweet.

Dave writes good songs, plays good guitar and Megadeth performs a great show, regardless of the lineup.

He's rock star. Let him be a douche. It's funner that way.
