I love the video for the Jables and Rage Kage leads, but the video and songs that accompany Low (probably NSFW) and Everlong are much better.

If you're a Grohl fan (which I take it snizwilk isn't), he'll be doing a breakfast show on KROQ tomorrow morning. You can stream it live at www.kroq.com.

The more you know...

I'm taking flying lessons this weekend so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

I hate this song, and I don't care for the video. I commented the other day that I hated the song, and it makes me wonder if someone submitted this out of spite, though I mean, that's an awfully convenient birthday.

Learn to Fly was middling and formulaic. I mean, just when you think a chorus can't get repeated again... Their current single is dangerously close to crossing that same line.

But I love that band. This album just wasn't the greatest. I only ever go back and listen to a few of the tracks when I spin that CD. I find myself just hitting "next." Album needed a little more rock, and Stacked Actors didn't quite do it for me. I liked MIA. Am I railing on the right album? I am, right? right? This was off Nothing Left to Lose?

/tis late.

Everytime I hear this song I think of the fight between Royce Gracie and Sakuraba.

The fight between Royce Gracie and Kazushi Sakuraba in Japan. There was no limit on the number of rounds, it went like 20 rounds, Gracie finally couldn't answer the bell.

Someone made a hightlight tape with Learning to Fly as the background music. Very popular highlight clip in MMA.

I saw the Foos play to 100,000 people in August, so am really wanting to kick you because of your reply.

/BRILLIANT live band.

Never cared about Foo Fighters, but he's one of my favorite drummers. He tends to come up with some pretty cool beats every now and then. It's a shame he left QOTSA.

Dave's the man. Happy birthday to him

One of the few very popular songs that I still enjoy listening to.

Ah Foos. Break my heart. This band has gotten consistently more mediocre every release. There latest is almost unlistenable with the exception of two tracks.

I hope those 2 tracks are the first two. The Pretender is solid, and I am shocked that Let it Die wasn't the 2nd song to hit the airwaves from this album.

My favorite song actually. Hence the namesake.

I never noticed how much Grohl looked Like Matt Leblanc in that video. I half expected the video to change and for him to ask the teenage girl version of him self how she was "doin'".

Like the Foos. Loved Probot.

Loved this song and video in High School. Loved it more after I found out who Tenacious D was.

I never knew the the D were in this video. That's awesome. You learn something everyday I guess.

I never even realized that's who those two were until now. That's pretty cool.

I thought I read/heard somewhere several years ago that Dave Grohl called this song something to the effect of "the most mediocre piece of shiat I ever recorded", and he was very surprised that it was chosen as the first single from the album. Anybody remember something like that?

That_Bob_Guy 2008-01-15 03:11:42 AM
My 2yo daughter loves him ... that's enough.

She'll climb on my lap when I'm on the computer, grab the headphones and say "spiders!" (her word for Foo Fighters, if any explanation is necessary) and proceed to jam to "Pretender".

She's advanced; she's demanding at at least a 5yo level.
