Before RTFA, I was assuming it would be a gum-snapping bimbo marrying a knuckle-dragging mouth breather. It's interesting that the same douchebaggery occurs among the more accomplished.

They sure look like that in the photo, though.

while what subby says in their headline is factually true, it really doesn't accurately describe what happened.

Can't we all just praise the lawyer for being honest?

bajonista 2008-01-13 05:36:25 PM
Wow. What a douche. Walking away from the altar in the middle of the ceremony like that? (That's what it looked like to me anyway.)

And why go through with a marriage if there was even a question in your mind that it wouldn't work out? Canceling the wedding by e-mail and then making up and starting the ceremondy anyway is just really, really strange.

At least they didn't end up getting married and then divorced a few weeks later.

That's better than most real estate brokers can hope for in this market.

Maybe she had a false positive pregnancy test and she was waiting to hear back from the doctor.

It sounds like she cancelled it before he cancelled it, so there's enough blame to go around for both of them.

After all, if the other party is uncertain, how badly do you want to marry them?

Just because you are lucky enough to make some money (Some people make money by skill, smarts and hard work, some just get lucky along the way.) does not mean you are not shallow and vapid.

I'd much rather marry a nice, smart, woman than some vapid bimbo no matter how rich or gorgeous.

Of course real estate agents are simply useless - we don't really need people to 'help' us sell our stuff. Lawyers are just paid liars. I have yet to find a lawyer that didn't cause me grief unless I was paying for their service or advice.

/IIAL. By training, not career. I would suck at it because I'd spend all day telling the other shysters to feck off.

I mean really, can you possibly have any other profession if that's your name?

Nakito: Sometimes I think that Florida ought to have its own Fark tag.

I disagree. If we give Florida its own tag, then Texas, California, and Nebraska will want one too. Best to not open that can of worms.

Better for it to end at the alter than to end in divorce later on.

Yes, and you prove just how intelligent, well spoken, and levelheaded you are by casually including a slur.

Jackass.

Catracks 2008-01-13 06:15:00 PM
How can a couple agree on marriage if their not sure and waffle back and forth?

Not all marriages work in the long run (or short), but we were and still are sure. To us, if was never a question. Once we met, it was just a matter of getting around to inviting lots of people to a party.

This just doesn't compute.

Not sure why I thought of that also.

I'll have to renew the TF this summer for an update if they allow the soap opera stuff back.

It's interesting that the same douchebaggery occurs among the more accomplished.

Yes indeed. The groom's upper-class breeding is immediately apparent from the elegant design of his evening wear. The velour shawl collar is a classic, while the factory-tied clip-on is simply timeless. And the absence of studs or buttons would suggest that the scarlet silk shirt is a pullover, which adds just the right touch of rakish daring.

Why? It says right in the article that they have a pre-nup. May as well have the honeymoon instead of breaking up right before it.

Bridezilla calls off wedding via email then gets upset when he bails at the Altar? These two DEFINITELY deserve each other.

Going by the headline, I thought the article would be about my ex-fiancée. Her "final and absolute" positions varied every 24-48 hours. She was excellent at turning black into white and night into day. Usually well-reasoned, too, except for the fact that she was dead certain of the opposite a couple days before.

/I kept a journal of her "final" decisions, with date and time of decision
//The USGS seismometers picked up her response to that
///not nice, I know, but couldn't help myself

RimShotTheTransformer: I feel really sorry for people that think marriage is a good idea. If we were still on dial up it would be a bad idea but highspeed? Come on. Grow up people and just love each other without getting the law involved!

How about you don't crap on what other people hold sacred, dick?

Sure, marriage is pointless, expensive, and has done more to destroy the human spirit than endless reruns of Melrose Place ever will, but that doesn't give you the right to poop all over the young people's dreams.

Cock.

Perhaps more "accomplished" in terms of bank accounts, but apparently every bit the white trash you would expect from mere mortals and lower life forms.
