Free the snakes.

This gets posted?

What the?

crazynorman 2008-01-12 03:13:03 PM
Lets see how they do in the real world then

MicroE 2008-01-12 03:14:16 PM
Aren't they likely to die since they've lost a lot of their sense of being in the wild? I'm probably wrong on that though.

dreaming i'm alive 2008-01-12 03:14:28 PM
It's good that they're free, but I'm not sure how a decade in captivity has equipped them to exist in their natural environs.

Dear Jerk 2008-01-12 03:14:29 PM
What eats old tame leopards?

EmmaLou 2008-01-12 03:15:20 PM
Do they know how to hunt? Are they too old to get their own food after being in captivity? How long before they're emaciated?

They never should have been in a cramped zoo in the first place, however, releasing them into the wild like that might be just as cruel.

ultraholland 2008-01-12 03:15:55 PM
They'll make lovely hats.

Zing! 2008-01-12 03:16:11 PM
Awww... the look on the female's face is like, "Rly? I can haz space?"

crazynorman: Lets see how they do in the real world then

They were last seen filling out applications at McDonald's. They'll be fine.

Two Dogs Farking [TotalFark] 2008-01-12 03:16:40 PM
RTFA people, they're in a wildlife preserve. They will be fed.

Vermilionphoenix 2008-01-12 03:17:33 PM
I can't see how animals in captivity can survive in the wild. Especially older ones who have not been exposed to the endemic diseases of the area released. They'll be dead in a month from some disease or a poacher.

xaandria 2008-01-12 03:18:17 PM
I could see releasing them into a much larger zoo enclosure or a wildlife park where they will be fed on a regular basis, but right out onto the veldt where they actually have to participate in the food chain? I bet these kitties have never experienced live food before. While hunting is instinctual, I don't have high hopes of these poor cats.

Eat More Possum [TotalFark] 2008-01-12 03:18:22 PM
Sweet gesture, but I doubt it is really beneficial to animals that age who have no experience living in the wild.

ultraholland: They'll make lovely hats.

Hell, a good tailor should get a coat out of the two.

CnFlght 2008-01-12 03:18:28 PM
Close ups of animals with wide-angled lenses can only be trumped by close ups of animals with hats with wide angled lenses.

idrow 2008-01-12 03:18:30 PM
Kept in a cage for 10 years, then when they're starting to get old, release them into the wild to fend for themselves. Did they learn hunting skills in their 20' cage?

/Poor things
//Sad

fritzpizitz 2008-01-12 03:18:43 PM
Cats can live on their own in the wild with no problems. Unlike dogs, they aren't so domesticated that they can't feed themselves. Also, they have big teeth. And claws.

MAYORBOB 2008-01-12 03:18:45 PM

All royals are inbred idiots confirmed. Prince Albert (in or out of the can):

"The leopards are quite old now but if they can have a nice last few years, then hopefully they will appreciate that we can do that for them."
Don't expect any thank you notes, Albie.

Both will be dead by summer.

upright_apes_r_us 2008-01-12 03:20:08 PM
10 to 1 a lion will kill them soon.

A sidebar shows frightful cougar Kim Catrall in a bikini. It's scary out there.

Zing!: Awww... the look on the female's face is like, "Rly? I can haz space?"

That is exactly what I thought.

And I did sniffle a little bit. Subby's a bastard.

Eat More Possum: Hell, a good tailor should get a coat out of the two.

hmm, you're right. A nice cape perhaps?

Vermilionphoenix 2008-01-12 03:25:34 PM
Two Dogs Farking: RTFA people, they're in a wildlife preserve. They will be fed.

They are not safe from exposure to bacteria, parasites, and viruses their immune systems have never seen before. By this age their immune systems are close to nil.

Also, poachers do get into wildlife preserves. It's why the rangers get to carry AK's.

moosealope 2008-01-12 03:28:10 PM
Since it was brought up, I have a feeling that "Born Free Lioness" is THE most common crossword clue ever. That mangy cat rears her head in every crossword I do. I'd like to put her back in a cage just to get her out of my crossword puzzles.

/cute kitties though.

Mjeck 2008-01-12 03:28:50 PM
my parents did the same thing to me when i was 23.

Dear Jerk: What eats old tame leopards?

Probably just about anything.

Massa Damnata 2008-01-12 03:33:51 PM
apparently life expectancy in the wild is 20 years....so they should be good for 7-8 years

/not taking into consideration what Vermilionphoenix said
//hopefully they have had a period of acclimatization
///yeah...I doubt it too

Set him free too. In Africa if possible.

I'd prefer a vest.

True Value 2008-01-12 03:47:04 PM
Wouldn't it have been better to release them into some sort of managed outdoor park or nature preserve?

caamando: ultraholland: They'll make lovely hats.

Some men hunt for sport,
Others hunt for food,
The only thing I'm hunting for,
Is an outfit that looks good...

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.

See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino.

Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles' necks, I've got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest,

Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest.

Like my loafers? Former gophers -
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best,

So let's prepare these dogs,

Kill two for matching clogs,

See my vest, see my vest,
Oh please, won't you see my vest.
