"Now Daddy is with Joe McCarthy and Ronald Reagan. I hope they stop laughing about the Reds long enough to talk to God about smiting some liberals for me."

Stay classy, Mann.

Besides being very funny, Father had an absolutely straight moral compass without ever being preachy or judgmental or even telling us in words. He just was good.

Too bad it didn't rub off on lil' Annie.

"I hope they stop laughing about the Reds long enough to talk to God about smiting some liberals for me."

I came here to say the same thing. I do read Townhall.com, but that is tacky and tasteless in the extreme. This takes political discourse down to the slimey gutter level of the Daily Kos. Well, not that low as evidenced by what I just saw on the main page.

5000_gallons_of_toothpaste 2008-01-11 07:12:25 PM
Wow, I hope this is good enough proof to any of her supporters that she is completely farking insane. She can't even go through her own father's funeral without spouting off her psycho shiat.

Wow. I've never really had an opinion of Ann Coulter one way or another - I've always just assumed she was a comedian like Rush Limbaugh - but this article is unbelievably disturbing. I'm shocked even TownHall printed it.

Can you imagine being so incredibly farked in the head that the only way you know how to memorialize one of your parents is to set their death against a backdrop of some left wing/right wing bullshiat?

Bill_Wick's_Friend 2008-01-11 07:29:56 PM
I'm sure all the pundits who kvetched and cried over the politicization of Coretta Scott King's funeral are going to be just as upset at (m)Ann Coulter for politicizing the death of her own father.

/holding my breath waiting for "conservative outrage"

Now Daddy is with Joe McCarthy and Ronald Reagan. I hope they stop laughing about the Reds long enough to talk to God about smiting some liberals for me.

It takes a special kind of disgusting coont to close an elegy to your recently-departed father with a wish that God will kill some people simply because they don't agree with your completely wacked-out political views.

I always just assumed this whore was performing an act, and was being outrageous was just to stir up controversy as part of "her" schtick. But I can't imagine someone who was just performing an act being a big enough piece of shiat to use a memorial piece to their dad for such purposes. She's obviously insane.

burrgrinder 2008-01-11 07:59:13 PM
Crazy is crazy. It only shows how farked up being an extremist really is.

swahnhennessy 2008-01-11 10:22:24 PM
Wow. Using your own dad's death to get in a few more potshots at those disgusting liberals. That is pure class.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-01-11 10:31:20 PM
Man, that is a first class biatch thing to do. If you still take this (wo)man the least bit seriously after this, your opinion is permanently negated.

No matter how idiotic and insane Kos Kiddies may be, I've yet to read anything that even approaches the level of sheer hate-filled idiocy that Dann Coulter displays.

"Mother swore she'd never marry a drinker, a smoker or a Catholic, and she got all three, reforming Father on all but the Catholicism. Even in foreign countries where none of us spoke the language, Father went to Mass every Sunday until the very end."

The mass was said in Latin at the time, worldwide, you dipshiat.

I Said [TotalFark] 2008-01-12 01:29:47 AM
I always thought she was an act. A careful act for publicity. And at first the obit was odd, but not too strange, until this:

FTA: When I was bombarded with arguments for baby-killing as a kid, I asked Father about the old chestnut involving a poverty-stricken, unwed teenage girl who gets pregnant. (This was before they added the "impregnated by her own father" part.) Father just said, "I don't care. If it's a life, it's a life." I'm still waiting to hear an effective counterargument.

Just so that you're aware, your comment was aimed at someone who thinks teaching world history is a liberal conspiracy to brainwash children.

Jesus Christ, that is on par with Norman Bates.

Father doesn't like communists. He doesn't like them at all. Father says you're a communist.

I always got the feeling that Coulter's anger was acting out for the approval of a distant and disapproving father.

Now I'm sure of it.

nashBridges: It happens.

If Mann Coulter's father had been killed as the direct result of the illegal and unwise actions of a gang of liberal politicians, then I could understand her using her father's death as a launching platform for verbal attacks against those liberals and how their actions caused his death. Though asking God to "smite" them still would be a little over the top.

That's akin to Sheehan's story, but that's not what happened here, of course--this was an out-of-the-blue shot at (and death wish against) liberals in a memorial piece for her dad. It had no correllation to her father's death. It's disgusting.

If you try real hard, I think you will be able to see the difference.

Every time I think she's hit absolute rock bottom, she grabs a shovel and gets to work.

One day, when her unholy pact is fulfilled, Satan himself will manifest to drag her screaming into her own personal Hell: a hippy commune centered around healing the Earth and mutual love for all mandkind. I can only pray that I'll be standing right there, video camera in hand, that I might not only be able to experience this joyous event in person, but over and over and over and over and....

Pastor of Muppets [TotalFark] 2008-01-12 01:48:16 AM
So apparently daddy singlehandedly broke the Philip Dodge strike and also tracked down the top Soviet spy in America.

When I was young and immature, I used to exaggerate my father's works, too...

And what's up with all the '..as we Scots..." BS. I'm Scottish, and I don't think I've used that phrase twice in my life. She used it twice in one obit.

Apparently she does have some physical characteristics of both of her parents, though. For example, she has her mother's hair, and her father's Adam's apple.

EmmaLou 2008-01-12 02:08:25 AM
For someone who's supposed to be God fearing and all of that, she doesn't seem that concerned about how the afterlife will be for her....what with those burning lakes of fire and all of those liberals she'll be stuck with for eternity.

Liberal atheists, this is gonna really be hell.

StopArrestingMe [recently expired TotalFark] 2008-01-12 02:25:50 AM
She reminds me a lot of one of Fred Phelps' daughters. From reading what she has to say about her dad...yeah. She never really had a chance.

Then she'd be, like, Batmann Coulter.

Cromar 2008-01-12 02:34:00 AM
Wow, does anyone seriously take "smite" as a verb that seriously means to kill someone? "Smite" is a joke...come on, she says plenty of controversial stuff, do you really need to waste your time attacking this?

It's really the only logical end. Hopefully there'll be a camera pointed at her at the moment of truth. I'd love to know what it was all about.

Sorry, Ann...they're all in the other place. Well, if your dad is actually any better than you are, he might be up there, but then he'd be shaking his head, wondering what he did wrong.

Wow. That woman has issues. Poor thing.

And to use a eulogy as a platform for making partisan jabs? That lacks class in so many ways I don't even know where to begin.

Unless her father would have approved of this hate-filled rant... in which case, at least we'd have a decent explanation as to how she ended up on the insane psycho-hose beast train... regardless, at least an alternative explanation to the previous explanation which was that she sold her soul to the Devil Rupert Murdoch.

bmasso 2008-01-12 03:46:47 AM
Meh. The disgusting thing isn't that Ann Coulter gets her politics from her Dad, and so chose to mention that in the list of things which she most admired about him.

It's that so many of you can't let YOUR Ann-hate go for one freakin' moment.

Her Dad died.
Her Dad was anti-Commie and anti-Union.
He was also a human being, a loving husband, and a loved father.

Why so celebratory about the passing of a man who did you zilch harm?
And about the personal loss of a woman whose politics are not your own.
Stay classy.

No, I'm serious.

(1) Think Ann Coulter is full of Vicious Hate.
(2) Think Vicious Hate is a Bad Thing.
(3) Therefore are full of Vicious Hate for Ann Coulter.

Makes sense... after a fashion.

But why drag her dead Dad into your Vicious Hatefest to boot?
