Remember that Calvin and Hobbes with the Ouija board when Calvin asked if he would be President?

So, uh, no.

Why would having an uneducated self-aggrandizing sexual predator with honesty issues on the supreme court be a problem?

Heh, wasn't there something similar in The Simpsons, Bart says something like he could be President one day and someone responds, "There are people who's job is it to prevent people like you from becoming President."

Could've been something other than the Simpsons though, my brain is a little shot today.

But yeah, same thing here.

So he refers to his toilet at "the supreme court"?

nobozo 2008-01-11 02:17:52 PM
You can bet he's only wearing a falafel under that robe.

O Rly SHOULD be in a barrel full of shiat, actually.

Snarfangel [TotalFark] 2008-01-11 02:47:34 PM
Wrong preposition. He should be in front of the Supreme Court, possibly begging for mercy.

And people were whining about Olbermann's ego in the other thread.

Can you imagine how O'Reilly's decisions would read?

I hear they get really nice loofahs.

Judge ORLY, in his dissent, told the other eight justices to "shut up" and asked them why they love coddling criminals so much.

Hey, Bill, did you get your J.D. from Hollywood Upstairs School of Law too?

Control_this [TotalFark] 2008-01-11 03:32:24 PM
I've always wanted to catch him alone in an elevator and beat the snot out of him. Tell him I'm a big fan and when the pompous ass extends his hand to shake mine, break his arm, beat him down and break all of his ribs.

That would be the saddest thing about him being a Supreme Court justice. I still have hope for our country and I could never give one a beatdown. Not even the ones who put Bush in power and quit doing their jobs defending us.

In a hint of irony, Bart becomes a Supreme Court Judge when he grows up.

I think it was actually Homer as a kid, not Bart, and Abe Simpson said that to him.

I imagine he would regularly cut the mike of attorneys that he doesn't like.

Obviously

You think wrong. His education was in journalism, not law.

He sexually harrassed a woman in jest? Was her multi-million dollar payout part of the joke? What specific lie did he give "in jest"? The one about the awards he didn't really recieve or about the success of his personally-led boycott or the ones about US soldiers committing atrocities? All of the above? Some of the above?

You've stepped up to play BillyO defender. I do hope you've got more than "Nuh uh! You're just craaaazy and hate him!" in your ammo kit.

If I'm on the Supreme Court, as I should be, I say what is the down side of having somebody prove who they are [when they come to vote]?

I have to agree, based on this brilliantly crafted piece of constitutional logic.

Gosling [TotalFark] 2008-01-11 05:05:40 PM
Was he joking or serious? Because in our family, we'll make jokes like that all the time.

Cagey B: I don't see how he'd be any different from Alito.

I'm a staunch civil libertarian who disagrees with Alito on a bunch of things. Hell, I disagree with all the Justices on at least some issues. However, they are all extremely intelligent and knowledgeable of the law. Alito was on a federal circuit court of appeals for 15 years before being appointed to the Supreme Court - so he knows his way around the law. Anyone who has read a fair amount Supreme Court opinions (majority opinions and dissents) knows that they all know case law extremely well, whatever side of the political aisle they may fall on.

/O'Reilly is a loud-mouth blowhard
//outside of ideology, Scalia's my favorite
///extremely vocal and holds no punches - doesn't hesitate to call everyone involved idiots

Flying Code Monkey 2008-01-11 05:06:38 PM
Hero tag seriously needs to go away.

In this case, the article is entertaining flamebait without it.

See, your first problem is thinking you need to worry about silly time-wasting things like "logic".

Get with the program already...

Note to self: write unauthorized sequel to the FARK.com book, as soon as I figure out a clever word meaning "deliberate use of incendiary headlines and tags to drive post traffic and make advertisers happy."

/has nothing in particular to do with ORLY
//just kinda tired of it

I wonder what we'd say if a majority of the posters in a conservative-leaning forum spread such vicious disinformation and death threats to ... a pundit.

Get a grip on yourself guys. If you're acting more irrationally than skookum , you know you should probably close your Mother Jones, go outside, and meet an American citizen. You know, the people you hate.

Really. I'm a libtard with ya'll, but this is disgusting.

Sorry, but then you need to drag him out of the elevator, send the elevator to the bottom of the building, open up the elevator doors (you need a special key for this, but I can get you one) and then throw him down the shaft.

Finish the job!
