My love she speaks like silence,
Without ideals or violence,
She doesn't have to say she's faithful,
Yet she's true, like ice, like fire.

My boyfriend has impeccable taste. Particularly in music, but more particularly in girlfriends.

True like ice, like fire.

And folks sitting in the room are thinking "he's not playing THAT again, is he? jeez. He's so full of himself."

Second greatest line in all of rock n roll: "The ghost of electricity howls from the bones of her face."

(best line in rock is "yeah yeah yeah")

That is the best part of Don't Look Back.

Donovan sings "I love you, you love me", and Dylan breaks out LMZ/NL. Donovan looks like he is going to poop.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think that song was shown in Don't Look Back (although it was obviously shot by Pennebaker at the same time as DLB). The credit on the video says it was in No Direction Home.

He still pwns Donovan throughout that movie though. Poor Donovan.

Wrong. The best line in Rock and Roll is "Womp-bomp-a-loom-op-a-womp-bam-boom!"

Just checked. He plays "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" right after Donovan sings his song. Same difference.

Was he? Right before Donovan plays (right before Dylan), Dylan asks if there are any poets around 'like Allen Ginsberg' which seems to imply that Ginsberg wasn't in the room at the time. I think he joined them later in the tour or something.

/one of my favorite documentaries of all time.

Oh the joys of DVR. I just taped Don't Look Back off of MTV's HD channel. I cannot tell you how shocked I was that is was being shown on anything associated with MTV.

If you even kind of like Dylan that documentary is awesome. This video is not on it though. There are some great Joan Baez scenes also.

I love early in the movie when they are reading the article asking "Is Donovan turning his back on his fans?" (paraphrase) and the guy drinking gin out of one bottle and chasing it with another bottle of soda says "He's only been around a few months"

That would be Alan Price, the guy who arranged and played the famous organ line on the Animals' version of "House of The Rising Sun".

They really showed that on MTV, huh? Color me surprised.

If you're interested, the commentary on the DVD by D.A. Pennebaker and Bob Neuwirth is great.

According the 'people in the know', Dylan was not in fact trying to outshow Donovan. It was edited very cleverly to make it appear so.

The song in Don't Look Back is Baby Blue, and it was Donovan, who in fact requested Dylan to play it.
