Maybe I'm idealistic. I keep thinking that these contestants really want to make serious, creative music, and that as soon as they can end their AI-channeled contracts they'll use the publicity they've gained to make a go of a respectable and dignified musical career, one with dignity, one with vision.

Not a good month for Idol winners from Birmingham, AL. No wonder Calhoun Community College was able to book Reuben for their 60th Anniversary Celebration. Reuben opened for a Tina Turner impersonator, Blues Brothers impersonators, and a band called Monkee and the Spank Daddys. Not exactly Music City Radio Hall huh?
