What's he supposed to do, burst into the Congressional committee chamber with a machete and start killing hostages until something gets done?

Maybe instead he should get himself elected to something other than mayor in a highly Republican state.

I think it speaks volumes that a person elected in a "highly republican state" has grave enough misgivings about our president that he'd risk his future political career by calling for an investigation.

Except he's not a Republican and SLC proper always votes Democrat. SLC Metro, however, is highly Republican.

What I meant, though, is that I'm tired of these mayors and city councils poking their nose into national politics (i.e. San Fransisco) when they really need to be fixing their own backyards. It's fine that he wrote the letter. It's not fine that he uses his office to do it.

The guy's a bit of a loon anyway. Before he didn't run for re-election, there was a movement out to impeach him.

/Used to live there.

Okay...

When the Mayor of SALT LAKE CITY suggests a Republican President be investigated for criminal activity...

You know something's up.

Yeah, when the DEMOCRAT Mayor of Salt Lake City suggests a Republican President be investigated....

More of the same partisan crap.

sounds like a great idea in my book.

Ummm., WHAT "future political career" were you envisioning?
He just got defeated for reelection.
That's like "standing up to your boss" after you've already lost your job,
cleared out your cubical, and are on the way to the front door.
Not so brave - and not so useful.

Second - were you somehow of the opinion that the current (D) Congress is NOT
doing any investigations? Hell, one explanation I've read for why their first 100
working days were so non-productive was that by that author's count committee
time spent in "Get Bush" hearings accounted for more than 50% of CT.

I think he shouldn't have waited so long.

I'm offended that people still call investigating Bush partisan crap. I don't care what party you are, what your views are. Bush has to go, regardless of party.

He wasn't defeated. He just didn't run for a 3rd term.

He is probably trolling for a cabinet position in the Obama administration.

Yes, Bush is a war criminal. We all know that.

But maybe Mayor Rocky should have done something about the big increase in gang violence and gang activity in his own city before taking on problems 10,000 miles away?

Just saying.

Agreed, too bad he didn't grow balls enough to say something until his last day of office.

Which makes it about 2/3 as much time as the Republican Congress spent on its "Get Bubba" scheme.

Becker should be all right. But man, I'm going to miss the way Rocky would piss off the squares in this town.

/Still pissed he souled out to the mormons on the Main St. thing though

Why the dumbass tag? For waiting so long?
