I love it. If I lived down there, I would have brought flowers for the tiger too.

Are you trying to compare Nazis and Communists? Cause didn't they like not get along very well?

It's a conspiracy. The zoo bred the tiger since birth to kill a human, and the fence was just low enough so the tiger could escape. They knew this would cause attendance to increase substantially. The bastards.

I wish they'd breed a few of those to hang around the mall where I work, so a couple more punk ass teenagers can bite the dust too.

Lived in the Bay Area all my life, I do not say "hella" (an affliction that seems to mostly reside in my sister), But am mystified as to why this little bit of slang has become the pet peeve of so many.

I feel really bad about the poor tiger dying. It's a shame people don't teach their kids not to tease animals. Anybody who grows up around cats would know better than to tease a tiger.

/was just petting a lion this morning

Wow, Fark sure has a lot of misanthropes, just like America. It's quite a small step from dehumanizing the dead kid and the likes of Abu Gharib. People simply devalue humans these days. Well that has always been the case, I doubt there was too much mourning when slaves/serfs died.

I feel for the kid and his family. Who doesn't make dumbass decisions sometime in their life. Maybe when your children die tragically, you will see the difference.

I teach my child not to tease an animal, because if the animal hurt him when he's picking on it, it's his fault, not the animal's. So if something does happen to him, at least it won't be due to that stupid conduct.

And it's not a "small step" from saying the kid caused his own death to participating in torture - that's a HUGE farking step. And only a holier-than-thou douchebag would make that connection.

I think one of the tigers showcased on the SF Zoo episode of
DIRTY JOBS (that was just rerun over the weekend) was the one
that killed that guy.

Kinda creepy.

Wait, we should value some punk who taunted an animal that could and would kill him?

What's next? Think of the child molesters?

Sure, I've made some dumbass decisions in my life, but this was beyond dumbass.

Sorry, dumbass kids who taunted the tiger. No sympathy for you.

The kids got what was coming to them. I don't even tease a HOUSE cat, much less a big cat that weighs twice as much as I do.

You tease the tiger, put your leg in their enclosure, you pay the price.

1. It's not about valuing his actions, but simply understanding he was a human being. A member of species has died, and is gone forever. I can't claim to be personally moved, as I did not know him. I feel for those that knew him and cared about him. I can only feel for him in the sense that I feel for all people who die that I don't know.

2. Just because someone is a child molester doesn't mean they aren't human. They are already in a hell in their own head, but the signs of a progressive and ethical society will always be associated with how we treat the downcast and outcasts, be they criminal or not.

3. I don't know if you have to even have sympathy. I'm simply saying think of the friends and family, and think that a human being died. He came into the world innocent, like all of us. Who knows what went wrong in his life?

I give you props for giving it the old college try in a thread that doesn't really lend itself to flame war, but I think it's just a little too obvious. The chain of reasoning isn't all that much more outlandish than some real arguments, but it's too creative to be mistaken for anything but trolling.
