Worried that we would learn how he ignored all studies and advice from emergency management people and decided that the command center should be at the WTC complex, WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY THE TARGET OF TERRORIST ATTACKS so he could toss an assload of money to his campaign contributer who held the lease?

I'd be worried too, that people might reasonably conclude that I was therefore responsible for the giant clusterfark that came from having no effective communications during just the sort of disaster that the command center was designed to manage. Perhaps NYPD and FDNY might still bear a grudge about that. A few hundred killed because of my cronyism and incompetence.

Yep, I'd be scared, too.

Douchebag.

He must have a trainer or something to hype him up and get him to attempt fitting9/11 references where they don't belong.

Waitress: "Can I take your order?"

Giuliani: "What's the special"

Waitress: "Eggs over easy."

Giuliani: "Well I'll tellya what I won't get over easy...9/11!!!"

trainer "Good job, Rudy...that was good. Hey let's ditch this place and try some verbal sparring on those kids in the park."

...Rudy gets up, shadowboxes out the door and lets out a Rick Flairesque "WOOO!" as he enters the crosswalk.

Rudy's kind of like the Kevin Nealon "Subliminal Man" but with no pretense at the subliminal part.

At some point, doesn't it sound just a wee bit like he's dancing on the graves of the victims because his failed ambitions got a new lease on life? And isn't that "point" getting pretty far in the rear view mirror?

But amazingly he's only becoming a laughing stock on the Net, major media just keep letting him get away with it.

I think Rudy is seriously considering another wife.

Here's my tryout for the Rudy speech writing team:

You know, when I look at my hands, I get to thinking; there are twenty digits: Nine and eleven when totaled. I can't help but to think of 9/11 every time I see my hands or feet together. Showers break my heart, and shaving stabs my soul.

To be fair, very few politicians think like engineers. The concept of putting redundant systems in two different places would be alien to far more than 9/11 boy. Even the politicians that tend to be regarded as being of above-average rationality, like Clinton or Reagan, would probably have farked that one up in much the same manner.

I don't fault him as much for that whole communications device problem as many others do, but the placement of the command center is absolutely farking ridiculous to any rational thinking person. He was warned against it, and other locations were suggested, but he wanted it to be there. When the shiat hit the fan and he came under fire for the placement of it he tried to say that he wanted it elsewhere and blamed it on some underling, who later released an old memo to the press proving that Rudy was lying his ass off.
