...So he's got that going for him.

Way to stay relevant there, Al.

What the hell was he thinking? Last night--for the first time in history--a black candidate for president won a state's delegates. He did so over one of the candidates who most represents the establishment that Sharpton said he was challenging when he ran for president. So how the hell does a guy like him back a billionaire old-money non-candidate?!

This really pisses me off.

Because, as everyone knows, he's their leader.

That's the point. Al's gotta maintain control of his base, so he goes against Obama, who can steal his base away from him. For Al, it's not about helping people, it's about helping Al.

While I am not endorsing Mayor Bloomberg for President, I am endorsing the idea that a Bloomberg candidacy centered on education as a civil right would be good for America.

Um, yeah, nice headline.

I'm not the submitter, but I guess I'll come to his/her defense here.

Sharpton's "non-endorsement" looks a lot like Michael Moore's statement the other day where he said he's not endorsing any candidate right now, but then went on to explain why Edwards would be a good president and Obama and Clinton would not. It's a de facto endorsement by someone who wants to be able to back someone else if it becomes popular to do so.

Lol Obama is an outside of the establishment candidate?

Where do people come up with this crap?

ochobit 2008-01-04 01:01:17 PM
Bloomberg would slash spending, put a progressive bell income tax that would take the burden off the middle class (the middle class would receive tax vouchers) and give more power to the local level and would instate French style single payer, non-profit healthcare...

There is a million and one things wrong with him, buuuuut he's better than a lot of the guys running...

He's a liberal with a economic conservative flair, I dunno... he is what a European or Canadian would call a conservative.

I'm a politics nerd, and I never heard of the guy until the mainstream media starting cramming him down my throat.

Obama's coming out was at the 2004 convention. If you didn't know him, you're not a politics nerd.

Thank god he didn't endorse Obama instead, that definitely would have killed his momentum.

I must say though, Bloomberg would probably make a damn fine President.
