Descartes: Predicted spin from the Hillary Campaign:

If Hillary wins:

The people have decided!

If Hillary comes in second:

We have met our expectations, now onwards to victory!

If Hillary comes in third:

Does Iowa really matter?

AngryDragon 2008-01-03 09:40:45 PM
Headline of the year.

She'll get over it.

Cool. You couldn't ask for a fresher start: a man who can speak in complete sentences without made-up words.

Huckabee win will cause GOP to lose when the real playmakers in the party sink his a$$. Come election time, they will stay home out of bitterness. The only way this would not happen is if Hilary wins and these nutjobs go out to vote against her

Vurmontr: he is very well spoken

So successfull.

As an alum of Obama's alma mater, I'm proud.

But as a citizen of the United States, I am scared of this guy. So many dumbed-down short-sighted feel-good solutions and phrases for a single person to bear. Jeez. I mean, seriously, he'll send the US economy into the crapper, as will Huckabee.

It's sad that populism and a sense of entitlement are so resurgent in this country.

Sphaux 2008-01-03 09:43:23 PM
Obama '08!!!

Howie Spankowitz [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 09:43:30 PM
The big story is Edwards tying Hillary for second place. He's a factor.

Huckabee and Obama win, Hillary fighting for second against Edwards:

This is me smiling.

Screamingredmenace 2008-01-03 09:44:11 PM
I love the headline so much. I was rooting for it the minute I saw it.

NewportBarGuy [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 09:44:22 PM
The republicans don't have Hillary to rally around this year with fervent hatred and irrational fear. They are going to tear themselves to pieces. Amusing.

Iowa City is nothing but hippies.

Legend has it they were all on their way to California but their van broke down so they decided to settle

All that money spent and Hillary comes in third?

Did not see that coming.

uoutf 2008-01-03 09:45:06 PM
Just got home from the caucus, was packed.

Edwards won my precinct, Hillary second, Obama third.

Zagloba 2008-01-03 09:45:25 PM
As of right now, TFA has no indication of WHY it thinks Obama won. (Not that I'd be complaining if he did.)

Hitting up CNN now...

karendotcom 2008-01-03 09:45:26 PM
You Rock, Barak!!!!

Do you think he'd pick either of the other two as VP?

KradDrol 2008-01-03 09:45:30 PM
Can someone with more poli. sci. experience explain why Iowa is always the first caucus and why so many candidates put so much emphasis on winning that state?

Yes, infanticide is very moderate.

saintstryfe 2008-01-03 09:46:18 PM
Big stories on both sides - Edwards is not a non-factor, and Obama is taking the Independent vote. Big ups on both men. I would love to see Obama/Edwards. And Hillary can stay in New York and continue her fine work as Senator.

KradDrol: Can someone with more poli. sci. experience explain why Iowa is always the first caucus and why so many candidates put so much emphasis on winning that state?

Well, your second question is answered by the first:).

Raggot 2008-01-03 09:46:29 PM
"He's doing everything it takes to win. So, you know what you guys do when he gets in here? You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it?"

unnaturalcravings 2008-01-03 09:46:34 PM
Better than Edwards. He seems a little too Huey P Longish (new window)for me.

Because you touch yoursel...not going there. the Media sez so.

Sadly, only 1 of the 3 has a chance at the general election. If Diebold has their say, it really won't matter anyway.

/hint: it's not the brother or the chick
