Yawn.

I just re-registered myself as a Democrat in California, after 20+ years as "decline to state."

Echoic 2008-01-03 07:54:03 PM
Got a shot of the obligatory 'caucus cookies' a little earlier. Sugar cookies for Obama.

I doubt it, why do you think Bill had to enlist Monica?

Huckabee

Paul

Unfortunately Paul won't be close to third, he'll be well behind Thompson & giuliani

knbber2: Unfortunately Paul won't be close to third, he'll be well behind Thompson & giuliani

Latest poll from DMR shows Paul at fourth, and only four points under McCain. Giuliani had 5%, so not sure where you're getting that.

Giuliani hasn't been campaigning in Iowa.

CNN's giant touchscreens get me all giddy.

Norad [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:02:18 PM
Quick, everyone! Let's walk to THIS side of the room!

flaEsq [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:05:58 PM
I hope it's Huckabee

Norad [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:09:53 PM
Look at that simmering mass of average IQ's, live on CNN, waiting to wander to a side of the room in a middle-school cafeteria in Iowa.

I can't wait till they get up and ambulate. That's Democracy in action!

GaryPDX [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:09:54 PM
What? About another hour before we start getting hard numbers?

Great platform for most of the nation's issues: Let Jesus sort it out through prayer.

Anything bigger: Jesus will fix it when He returns

robsul82 [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:10:19 PM
Come on, Obama, time to make the upset real!

If I could have it my way -

Obama
Edwards
Clinton

Polls at the places, according to MSNBC, have Obama and Clinton in a dead heat.

I guess I missed the "real" thread. I was trying to keep out the liters.

CNN has cameras inside the caucuses! Wow, for a PolySci major this is like the start of the playoffs!

Doctor Hooey 2008-01-03 08:11:28 PM
It's gonna be Clinton and Romney.

kilgorn 2008-01-03 08:11:30 PM
I see Hillary being the big loser tonight...

/but Iowa doesn't really matter

southaustin [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:11:32 PM
THIS!

There's no absentee voting, no early voting, no voting for those overseas and the Iowa caucus polls are only open for a few hours tonight. If you, you know, have a job during those hours or kids at home or classes or any other manner of reasons, you can't vote today.

It'e effed up. And not in a good way.

The media will try to make it look closer than it is, so we'll watch.
The media will try to act like a state with a population less than Chicago matters in the grand scheme, so we'll watch.

Gr.

MarkGT 2008-01-03 08:11:37 PM
And the biggest election-day losers: Those voting :D

Lord of Allusions [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:12:03 PM
I just heard the woman on XM's coverage of this say "Rock your caucus off".

knbber2: Unfortunately Paul won't be close to third, he'll be well behind Thompson & giuliani

What are you smoking? Even CNN, Fox News are predicting Ron Paul as beating Giuliani.

Norad [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:12:07 PM
I wish a drunk would shout "SHUT UP RADAR, YOU WHITE BEARDED DUSTY OLD FART!"

Echoic 2008-01-03 08:12:14 PM
robsul82: Polls at the places, according to MSNBC, have Obama and Clinton in a dead heat.

Yep. The thing for Obama is that he's going to pull more second-choice voters than Clinton. If Clinton doesn't get more voters intent on voting for her, she'll probably lose.

ioduae 2008-01-03 08:12:15 PM
OH MAMA! OBAMA!

Because Monica would lick his brown eye.

southaustin [TotalFark] 2008-01-03 08:12:25 PM
Having lived 30 miles south of the Iowa border for 5+ years at one point, I know that Iowans love to root for an underdog. Expect that tonight.

SoxSweepAgain 2008-01-03 08:12:28 PM
I hate that every four years I am forced to care about what Iowans think.

hetheeme 2008-01-03 08:12:54 PM
I don't get why we use Iowa for this.

I watched this documentary about how easy it is to fool Iowans.

hillbillypharmacist: Where's a good place to get streaming info?

I heard Google has an amazing thing set up...10 minute delays on caucuses actual videos from all over Iowa. Anyone else heard this?

I'll go look

This is lame. Why am I watching a bunch of hicks standing around in a living room.

I've never understood why the Republican caucus is basically a straw poll, while the Democratic one is a huge, complex effort.

I'd put Clinton at third place format is going to kill her.

I can't imagine that she'd be anyone's second choice--you love or hate her.

hillbillypharmacist: Where's a good place to get streaming info?

CNN.com supposedly has real-time info, but I'm watching TV, so I can't be sure.

Too easy, I'll let somebody else handle the punchline.

Well, yeah, but. Clinton finishes third tonight, there's a LOT of hilarious Time/Newsweek covers to lampoon later, much like the Dean covers.

I wonder who will win among the republiscabs.

Nice one!
I can't remember the last time I cared about the Iowa caucus, but I'm really hoping to see Obama come out on top.

I get to see the results in high-def on CNN, so I am really getting a kick out of these replies.

Is that today?

I thought we did elections on Tuesdays in this country.
