I must surely protest, sirs! The headline is misleading and has little if anything to do with the article to which it is attached! Clearly this is an unprecedented occurrence and to see Fark sink so low is a most grievous breach of ethical and moral standards. I demand recompense!

But Paul also learned that, because of his lackluster showing in the polls, he will not be invited to participate in Sunday's Fox News/New Hampshire Republican Party debate, a key event before next week's New Hampshire primary.

FAIL

Oh goody, a thread where dumbass Ron Paul haters(people trying to fit in) argue with dumbass Paul supporters (who are trying to be different). Haven't seen one of these before. I only like Paul because he seems like he has some decent ideas, compared to...other candidates.

/mods should know better than to greenlight this for their sick entertainment.
//voting Paul (guess that makes me a dumbass by my logic haha) or Obama (provided one of them gets a nomination, doubt Paul will. Okay, it's not gonna happen)

When people try to convince me that Ron Paul is isnane, I just double-check the definition of Insantiy:

Nope.

The last Zogby poll has him tied with McCain and Thompson for 3rd place. If you take into consideration that Paul's supporters are much more likely to be enthusiastic enough to get out to a boring two-hour caucus on a cold January night, it's perfectly plausible that he could beat out McCain and Thompson to secure 3rd. That's clearly John Zogby's opinion, he's predicted Paul could get as high as 17% and will almost certainly get 3rd. That would force the media to give him at least as much attention as they give the candidates he beat (which would include McCain, Thompson, and Giuliani) and would make it nearly impossible for Fox News to continue to exclude him from their forum. The New Hampshire GOP has already threatened to withdraw support from the Fox forum if Paul isn't allowed in. The GOP took a big hit in traditionally (libertarian-leaning) Yankee Republican New Hampshire in 2006. The Paul people have the potential to reinvigorate the party, and have proven that over the past few months, and the New Hampshire GOP is none too pleased with the prospect of all these new people not sticking around to vote Republican in local/state elections because their candidate was blacklisted by the media.

So, considering that Fox News has stupidly already assumed he won't place in the top 5 in Iowa, placing a strong 3rd would indeed be a "shock to the world".

Actually, the definitions of insanity are:

1: a deranged state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder (as schizophrenia)

2: such unsoundness of mind or lack of understanding as prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or as removes one from criminal or civil responsibility

3 a: extreme folly or unreasonableness b: something utterly foolish or unreasonable

What you said was not the definition of insanity, but a pithy quote that humorously describes foolishness.

Do you not see the paradox of (rightly) acknowledging that it's wrong for the Federal government to run every aspect of our lives, but that this same government magically becomes competent enough to run a foreign nation, half a world away, that is not the least bit inclined towards democracy, and which is filled with violent people trying to undermine it?

Sadly, he doesn't have a chance. Ron refuses to ignore the constitution, and that'll keep the average fear-stricken, nanny state-loving American from giving him support. We here in The Land of the Soft and the Home of the Dependent® don't like it when a candidate tells us to be responsible for our own lives and actions. That's's just, like, too much to deal with, dude. Now fire up a fatty and sign-in to Xbox Live!

There ain't enough fanboys in the world to make that happen, let alone enough of them that would get off their lazy asses and go vote. That and if he does become a front runner, the media will shred him to pieces. It's not a conspiracy, it's just what they do.

bighairyguy: et alone enough of them that would get off their lazy asses and go vote.

How the hell do you figure that Ron Paul's supporters are the lazy ones, when they are by far much more likely to actually get out and work for their candidate? Hell, more often than not nowadays they outnumber other candidate's supporters at that candidate's events.

If it's true that Ron Paul's supporters only constitute some minute percentage of Republicans, then the last thing you could call them is lazy, as they're out making more noise than everyone else combined.
