In truth, we don't really know yet. We're just assuming that it's him because it sounds a lot like him and says the same sort of thing that he usually does.

In a few days, the intelligence agencies will have run a computerized voice analysis to see how exact of a match it is to earlier tapes. Sometimes they say that we can't really know its him for sure because the audio quality is so low.

Most likely it's real, there hasn't been a case yet where they said that it probably wasn't.

Judging by the title, Osama's given up terrorism and is now trying to submit a master's degree thesis. Either that or bore us all to death.
