I am glad to see that Luby's is in the news for a little happier reason this time.

Oct. 16, 1991 at 12:45 p.m., 35-year-old George Hennard of nearby Belton drove his pickup truck through a window at the Killeen Luby's and killed 24 people.

You just never know who you're dealing with, do you? He acts all grumpy and mean, but in the end turns out to be kind and giving. Then again, maybe he just watched As Good as It Gets too many times.

I was going to say, maybe she just took a road trip with him and a gay guy.

Interesting. I know the people that own the Chinese Restaurant that used to be Luby's. Their daughter is married to one of my friends. I never knew that about that place.

I hated that town and glad I got to leave once I was done with the Army.

She made sure his food was as hot as he wanted, even if it meant he burned his mouth.

The 50k was from the lawsuit he filed and won.

I heard he didn't like standing on lines and had to lock the door three times.

AWWWWW...are you mad because you submitted this and it didn't get approved? Poor baby. Better let the powers that be know that you are the one and only authority on all that is witty and charming, and all the girls flock to you in droves because of your charismatic personality and powers of intelligent observation. And from now on run everything by you first just to make sure that it fits to your standards, god forbid one of the little people actually are able to submit a FARK story! Something must be done about this at once, like maybe a system of higher ups or a panel of judges to review these things before they are greenlit.

You'll get over it.

FTFA: She made sure his food was as hot as he wanted, even if it meant he burned his mouth. And she smiled through his demands and curses. The 89-year-old Walter "Buck" Swords obviously appreciated it, leaving the waitress $50,000 and a 2000 Buick when he died.

"Buck" Swords?! Was he a porn star?

But this is why I adore little old men and always have been nice to them no matter what. If you are extra nice to a little grumpy old man, they will remember it and be thankful in the end. I have always been the go to girl when someone had to deal with a little old mean man because they have always been sweethearts to me, the little old men love me for some reason. Plus, little old men always have the best stories to tell.

You never know when you will be in the right place at the right time.

Some time ago I was going through just a heap of bullsh*t, and I was so down in the dumps I felt like a snake's belly.

"Don't worry dino," said a chick who works at the coffee shop where I hang out "You are clever and you are strong. You will work your way out of this."

That was 100% true, but at the time she said it---I couldn't figure it out for myself, I needed to be told.

From that day forward, I was a changed man. Within 90 days, a big stack of crap which would have crushed a lesser man was nothing more than sufficient to get me pissed off as hell.

Never saw the chick after that, but if she walked up and asked me for a grand, I would have handed it to her no questions asked. Pay it back if convenient, keep it if not.

Small tidbit left out...he executed them with a gun...not killed them with the truck.

That entire album is great. One of the few albums in my collection that I can and have listened to for years without getting tired of it...

I hear that. One day I was working on some pictures (photography was a hobby then) on my notebook and my favorite barista said "hey those are pretty good... you wanna hang them in here?" a few months later i quit my job and started my business and the rest is history...

She's long since moved on but I couldn't pay her enough if she needed it...

It really is a great album. Some really standout songs, individually, too.

I remember reading about that when it happened. Absolutely terrifying.
