Al Qaida denied having involvement. And yes, they would take credit if they had any part of it. Killing is fame and fear after all. They'd have no reason to deny it if they did it.

In other words, it's garbage. It wasn't Al Qaida. Even if they did take credit, you have to be skeptical. I've been saying for years that OBL is long dead, though I suspected he'd died of renal failure during the siege on Tora Bora in December of '01. Even the CIA suspected that he'd died there, but claimed (rightfully, IMHO) that they'd consider him still alive until they found his corpse.
FOX wouldn't report it if they knew it, and neither would CNN, CBS, MSNBC, or any or the other network "news" outlets.
He's necessary as a boogeyman.
