No, they'll chase him ineffectually for a year or two, then declare that it's no longer important to capture him while dragging out his organization as an omnipotent boogeyman to fear mightily every time their administration engages in some spectacular bit of incompetence from which they need to distract the public.

How many #2 guys does he have. That's important these days.

Yes but did they ignore him for years and allow him to grow powerful even while the government of another country repeatedly offered to hand him over? Has he conducted multiple terrorist attacks without any real response?

FTA: "Bhutto herself warned before her death that there were powerful figures in Pakistan plotting to kill her. Yesterday disturbing new evidence emerged of concerns that Bhutto voiced two months ago."

Here's a clip from an interview with Sir David Frost. Listen carefully at about 6:15 into it.

Watch, he'll release a videotape in which he admits he carried out the attack because of certain explicit policy aims, which no progressive Pakistani could ever adhere to, and because of specific historical actions of Pakistan, of which no progressive Pakistani should be ashamed.

Yet a significant segment of Pakistani society will reassure themselves that they "had it coming."

Pakistan should look for a one-armed man and they should not stop until they find him.

/Dr. Richard Kimble would agree.

Bush has his legion of pussies so worked up, that anybody claiming to be Al Qaida is good enough for them. They don't really have to be - just claiming it justifies their cowardice.

The propogandists over at NRO are claiming victory in Anbar (which is like taking credit for stabilizing North Dakota) over Al Qaida which is funny because they never existed in Iraq before. Meanwhile, the real bad guys that export terror continue to do so pretty much unchecked.

What a brilliant farking strategy.

Doing so sends the message of a woman with no fear of the people, a woman who is gambling that the love of her supporters will outweigh the hatred of her enemies.
Sadly, she lost.

//how long have we been looking for Osama and Mullah Omar?
///We don't find them, because we don't want to find them.

Did anyone see the email she sent? "u" instead of "you". This was a political leader. I wonder if she ended it with "lololol".

Farkomatic: Bush has his legion of pussies so worked up, that anybody claiming to be Al Qaida is good enough for them.

Including an anonymous voice on a telephone, speaking in broken English.

Al Qaeda is a Straussian myth, the new phantom enemy that the neocons need to control us since the Soviet Union crumbled under it's own weight and decadence.

luciferos 2007-12-29 11:27:24 AM
Al Qaida denied having involvement. And yes, they would take credit if they had any part of it. Killing is fame and fear after all. They'd have no reason to deny it if they did it.

In other words, it's garbage. It wasn't Al Qaida. Even if they did take credit, you have to be skeptical. Consider the tons of I DID IT phonecalls the police get from crazy people after some big mass murder. Makes more sense it was Masharif. After all, dictators don't like competition. Kill the competition, kill democracy.

Why would a militia willingly have an election? :)

I've been saying for years that OBL is long dead, though I suspected he'd died of renal failure during the siege on Tora Bora in December of '01. Even the CIA suspected that he'd died there, but claimed (rightfully, IMHO) that they'd consider him still alive until they found his corpse.
FOX wouldn't report it if they knew it, and neither would CNN, CBS, MSNBC, or any or the other network "news" outlets.
He's necessary as a boogeyman.
