His "good chance" rests on the entirety of the U.S. resembling Iowa or Arkansas much more than it currently does.

"The immigration issue is not so much about people coming to pick lettuce or make beds, it's about people who could come with a shoulder-fired missile and could do serious damage and harm to us," Huckabee said, "and that's what we need to be worried about."

HAHAHA, somehow I think they'd have a hard time getting that by customs.

Man, that's some concentrated stupid right there. Its so concentrated, that I am now replacing in my vocabulary the world "stupid" with the word "Republican."

I now rephrase my previous statement to read "Man, that's some concentrated Republican right there."

The truth: take a wild guess.

I am scared of Huckabee. I really am. He has no CLUE about foreign policy. I knew about the NIE as soon as the news got ahold of it, and I heard about the lifting of martial law in Pakistan as soon as the news got ahold of it. How the HELL can a national candidate be oblivious to these things and still remain viable?

Someone?

Can a Huckabee supporter please explain this to me?

EmmaLou 2007-12-29 03:08:35 AM
Wtf? How can you be running for President of the United State of America and say something so retarded sounding? Even Dubbya held in the stupid for a little while. If this is Huckabee at his best, Lord only knows what 4 or 8 years of his special brand of stupid will bring.

I will say this once (and only once so listen up).

When in doubt, America always chooses the white, christian, conservative who can stir up more fear. Therefore, Huckabee wins.

PREDICTION MADE

IT WILL BE SO!

personally... I wish this was not the case

If Huckabee wins, I will start killing Christians, because Jesus told me to. Unfortunately, I would have to kill myself first, so I may not be very effective.

Crap! This circular logic, religious thing always puts me in a bind. Let me think about it. I'll get back to you all.

Unless you are Catholics, Mormons, Jews, Scientologists or Muslims, then I don't care, so don't wait or me to get back to you and stuff.

OK?

And no this is incorrect, Iran has not "suspended" its nuclear weapons program, they will stall and lie and refuse inspectors and generally manipulate the media like Iraq did, only this time given the timing of their operation could produce something that could be launched at US interests. The secret is out. Any country that brags about future nuclear capability should be put on some kind of international probation, and Iran is the next candidate.

Do you really want to compare Iran's nuclear program to Iraq's WMDs?

no no no, you don't understand. These mistakes show just how much of a normal, honest guy he is.

I'm sick and tired of you filthy elitists who want some sort of mental superman in office. Where does that get us? Do you want some arrogant smarty pushing you around? Believing in evolution and being all 'knowledgeable' and 'worldly'?

I think it's about time we had a normal, down-to-earth guy in office, a guy who goes to church and can speak plainly to common, salt-of-the-earth folk like you and I.

AgentOrangeDrink 2007-12-29 03:52:47 AM

rosebud_the_sled 2007-12-29 03:54:08 AM
Well said Aeonic_Blue!

Huckabee is like that really stupid guy in class that gets everythng wrong but is real friendly and OK to be around. He's like that guy you can have a beer with but is completely clueless, and can't possibly grasp reality.

But that's OK, because all he has to do is press that little button that rains nukular death upon all the inhabitants of the earth and Jesus will come down and save us.

Or better yet, he will get us involved in a useless war for trillions of more dollars that the republicans have no intention of paying just because it seemed like a thing to do. Maybe he can blame it on Clinton as well.

We have had two evangelical Presidents and both have been worthless piles of crap and now someone would want a third. Christ almighty Americans have turned so stupid that they deserve the suicide that that are moving toward.

If Jesus were alive today, he would vomit when he encountered the typical American Christian.

I feel this way, and I'm an agnostic.

Didn't you used to have some Revelations-style stuff in your profile - the rantings of a righteous Christian about the coming end of the world? Do you not think Middle Eastern politics will produce the apocalypse any more?

This is just the Republicans once again setting the bar impossibly low and having their candidate barely get over it.

For Christmas, I got my nephew Seasons 1-3 of the Gummi Bears cartoon, I grew up loving that show and the values it instilled in me: Help your friends when you can, seek adventure, violence begets violence but is sometimes (rarely) necessary, never share a secret recipe, and leaders can only be as good as those they lead.

The fact that a man like Huckabee can rise to such prominence in this country, at this time, is scary not for who and what he is, but for what it says about the nation as a whole. We've gone so far away from the days of Publius and Common Sense, that I wonder how they ever existed in the first place. The "Grand Experiment" did not fail us, we failed it. The profound sadness that this should cause in you should only be eclipsed by knowing how bad the next phase will be.

My nephew has his DVDs, hopefully, when he begins searching for heroes he'll turn to them rather than observe those in charge.

WhyteRaven74 [TotalFark] 2007-12-29 05:57:05 AM
I think it's safe to assume Huckabee isn't smarter than anyone, this includes George W, on anything. And Giuliani and Paul have their own issues, not exactly the brightest bulbs either.

Because we should tell the world to do as we say, not as we do. Because we have more nukes than anyone and that does not make us hypocrites at all. Because we are the only country to ever use them on someone...

... never mind. I can tell that this is a waste of my time.

Philogogus: How the HELL can a national candidate be oblivious to these things and still remain viable?

For the same reason the average U.S. American doesn't know what's going on two counties over, let alone in such as, The Iraq.

This country venerates stupid.

60% don't know when to stop eating.
75% buy gas guzzlers and wonder why fuel prices rise.
90% don't know how a turn signal works.

Creationism, zero-tolerance (aka zero-judgment) policies, war on (some) drugs, 2M imprisoned, 40M uninsured, DHS/TSA, etc.

I miss the days when being stupid actually had a negative social stigma. Until we can vilify idiocy there is no hope.

Until the people who profit from their cheap labor are imprisoned and their property and businesses seized for hiring illegal workers the problem will persist.

But noooooo, it's only the dirt-poor Hispanic is worthy of prosecution and deportation.

Thanks GOP for your "fair and balanced" position on this issue. Like any cockroach they run and hide when the spotlight shines on their constituent's business practices.

karasoth 2007-12-29 11:07:40 AM
for immigration #1 thing that would fix the illegal immigration situation is perp walks. lots and lots of perp walks. Social Security and the IRS get TONS of bogus Social security number connected accounts. Ones that are clearly illegal. and very often they work for the same employer.

sounds like some people need to go to jail and lose lots and lots of money

then firms will be careful. and also some firms may discriminate against legal hispanics which will remove them as support networks for the illegals because they are farking up our shiat to
