I'd like to see a debate between Massachusetts Mitt and Redstate Romney.

That's just plain uncalled for dirty trickery.

/Using a man's own words against him is just wrong.

McCain is on the upswing.

McCain is old.

That is all.

That's a great ad.

If McCain's dumb enough to not run such a good ad, in fact, he shouldn't be president. Shows a pretty shiatty ability to go for the throat.

I'd say that Romney's 'attack ad' paints McCain in a good light.

Hoo boy, and these guys think they're gonna rule the world.

Seriously, people need to wake up.

Watching both parties eat their own would be a helluva lot more entertaining if one of the nutjobs wouldn't eventually be running our country.

It was a great ad. Too bad Mcain has no chance. All of the Republicans running are poor choices--where's Reagan when this country needs him?

Running a-puck 2007-12-28 07:01:50 PM
I honestly don't understand why someone hasn't attacked him (in a big way) on this front before. A change of opinion on matters over time and when you get new information is one thing, blatantly contradicting yourself in this way is another.

In the place where he can do his country the least amount of harm?

I used to feel that way. Now, I'm perfectly happy that he has no chance.

a monkey could have made that ad.

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that politicians will say the most advantageous thing at the time, even if it leads to an inconsistent legacy? Get out!

Funniest part of this is the barefaced mercenary nature of the ad-campaigners. They were never working for someone whose ideals they shared. They don't support anything but the greenback.

Worst part is I can't think of a single Republican who is even worth putting up in a general election. They should just sit this one out to be honest, if this is all they can come up with. At least Obama, Edwards and Kucinich aren't total embarrassments on the Dem side.

MFL: McCain is on the upswing.

there are times that i really want to like john mccain, but i honestly think the guy is his own worst enemy and i doubt he'll see much of an upswing.

like jon stewart said, we're waiting to see the mccain who'll pull no punches and isn't afraid to remind the republican party that it doesn't need to be shills to religious zealots...

unfortunately, he has opted to reactively pander to anyone who seems to not like him on the right, meaning that not only did he not win their respect, he ends up losing the respect of people like me.

if there were any things i would almost be certain of in this election, it'd have to be ron paul supporters being very vocal right around and after the primaries and throughout the election no matter how he does, and john mccain floundering his way into obscurity. and maybe hilary fighting mechagodzilla.

Or, maybe now that they've leaked the ad to Slate

Who?

Dr. Baird 2007-12-28 09:50:48 PM
Couldn't you do this with just about 85-90% of all politicians?

"This ad brought to you by the ghost of John McCain's spine."
