Ron Paul... but then, this is the internet... they who are unplugged have different standards, it seems, pushed along a greasy track to fascist doom by Fox News, etc.

This kinda flies in the face of what he said at this last CNN debate, doesn't it?

This question is for Ron Paul.

Mr. Paul, I think we both know that the Republican party is never going to give you the nomination. But I'm hoping that you're crazy like a fox like that and you're using this exposure to propel yourself into an independent run.

My question is for Ron Paul: Mr. Paul, are you going to let America down by not running as an independent?

Thank you.

Paul: Now that's what I call a tough question, because I have no intention of doing this.

Well, if the Modern Conservative blog has a reliable source on the matter, IT MUST BE TRUE.

See, he honestly answered the question as asked. He would not be running as an independent if he ran as the Constitution Party's candidate.

The question and answer are both worded strangely, IMO. Does he have no intention of running as an independent, or does he have no intention of not running as an independent?

/double negatives aren't mentioned in the Constitution

I'll take Hillary for the win.

If Ron Paul moves to third party option, it'll be a repeat of the 1968 election with the infamous American Independent Party.

Actually, we need such a party in American politics. It would end the two-party system, giving extreme right-wingers someplace to vent in their own sandbox.

You'd think the website would be for Paul, since he'd make their heavy crack habit legal.

More seriously, what is the chance that a "anonymous but reliable" source giving information to a site like this? If he really had proof, wouldn't a more reputable venue be better? Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, Washington Post -- hell, even Fox News -- would love to have something like this, as long as it was verifiable.

I'd say it stinks of a smear tactic, but I feel a bit sorry for the site. It's probably just a plea for attention.

Oh boy! Its the daily Ron Paul Love/Hate fest on Fark!
Facts about Ron Paul I have learned on Fark:
Ron Paul actually planned and executed 9/11.
Ron Paul doesn't believe 9/11 happened.
Ron Paul was born Charles Manson but changed his name when he escaped jail in 1980. Since then a Manson impersonator has been imprisoned in Ron Paul's place.
Ron Paul invented food.
Ron Paul discovered electricity.
Ron Paul starts every morning off by killing a baby duck.
Ron Paul can cure cancer by simply touching the hand of the suffering. But he refuses to do so.
Ron Paul killed Bobby Kennedy.
Yup that's about what you get from reading Fark.

One cannot vote for Paul, as he wants to enslave black people and thinks we should not save the Chosen People from all harm.

I learned this from Fark.

Has anyone actually read the article? It's obviously not an objective source for news and they're clearly making this up.

Ron Paul has been very clear that he doesn't intend to run as a third party candidate. Honestly, what is fark doing?

Dear God, NOT THIS.

At this point, Hillary is about the only Democratic candidate that can convince me to vote third party in November.

Deadite 2007-12-27 03:21:45 PM
I learned that you can use H.R. 300 as an argument for and against Ron Paul on any and all issues. Also that at some point someone will mention H.R. 300 at least once in a Ron Paul thread.

That is what I learned on Fark.

We can, however, vouch for his/her reliability.

If you don't even know your source well enough to know if they have dangly bits or not, you probably shouldn't rely on them as a source for a story.

BiffDangler 2007-12-27 03:25:07 PM
I'll be voting for Paul. Sure, he's nutty on some stuff. But, he's the only candidate who will:

A: Bring the troops home. And not just from Iraq. In general.
B: Actually reduce the size of gov't.

As there are no other candidates that will do that, there are no other candidates I will be voting for.

It's because he said that US intervention in foreign affairs caused terrorists to get mad at us and attack us, and somehow they interpreted that as "JEWS DID 9/11"!

Ron Paul's name is too short, and he has two first names. He should change it...to Ron Paul Jones! Think of the campaign possibilities:

Capture in one swoop both the crucial 'classic rock' listener demographic and Revolutionary War naval history buffs/battle reenactor voters, who are often overlooked by candidates in their rush to embrace Civil War buffs.

Campaign slogan: "I have not yet begun to fight...the chaos that one day will ensue from our 35-year experiment with worldwide fiat money...we will know that day is approaching when oil-producing countries demand gold, or its equivalent, for their oil rather than dollars or Euros. The sooner the better."*

Post cardboard campaign signs along skid rows in cities all across the country. Oh wait...

Name one blimp the 'Leed Zeppelin' and another one the 'Bon Homme Paultard'.

"Turn the Page! Legalize the Plant! um...zombie...Bonham..."**

I really, really like Paul for B, but I'm worried about A. Oh, not that anyone is going to invade, but I think that peak oil is real and happening, and as long as our economy (like everybody else's) is oil based it's going to take both plenty of carrot and a pretty heavy stick to maintain access to it. I advocate massive alternative energy R&D and all necessary cracking of heads to keep the oil flowing until we somehow achieve energy independence.

The majority (can't remember the exact statistic) of black males will be incarcerated at some point in their life. I don't know the context of that quote, but maybe he's stating a fact in support of an argument to fix a problem, rather than just being a racist dumbshiat, as that seems to me to be much more his style. I don't know though, without any context at all.
