Yup.

Until you get west of I-380, then it becomes East Nebraska.

That can't possibly be the first time that joke has been told, but damn that's funny.

There are some fairly hilly areas along the border with Wisconsin/Mississippi IIRC.

Iowa does, however, suck- and suck hard.

Then you get past that area- it ends at about the Dells- and out where I am we have something called 'drumlins', which is the technical term for 'we're flat but want to give the impression that we actually have rolling hills so people aren't bored out of their skulls'.

Definitely True. And the best XC teams come from Eastern Iowa

Iowa's always had hills. It's between the two largest rivers in North America. Something's there to keep them apart.

Yes. You don't ever want to cross the streams. That would be bad.

In the "Marwan" season of "24", they referred to a convoy being attacked in the "mountains" of Iowa.
Lolz.

Do you write your own material?
Sadly, you're not from IL, so I can't drop my favorite response:

Ignorant

Losers
In

Of
Iowa
Schooling

and yes, Iowa has TONS of hills on the east half. RAGBRAI in '05 had some absolutely killer hills the last two days. 50+ miles of rollers. I hit 45+ on the final descent into Guttenburg, too.

Iowa City is very hilly.

Prude_Hawkeye: Do you write your own material?

No, I used to have to go to Ames a few times a year to bail out the plant my company had there. I thought that one just wrote itself.

Now this RAGBRAI sounds interesting. I'm going to have to look into it, it may actually be a good reason to go back there.
That, and the good steaks out there. Best steaks in the country.

/mmm, steak
//the dog wants some too

You know what else Iowa doesn't have? More than a smattering of non-caucasians. That there is a land of white people and churches. So many churches it makes you wonder just how much sinning it takes to need so many Jesus houses that you can't throw a rock without hitting one. I'm trying to think of a whiter state they could start the primaries in. Denmark maybe?

More specifically, my driveway in Council Bluffs, Iowa would like to have a word with Mr. McCain.
