He missed "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time."

Also, "And So This is Christmas."

What a Grinch.

you haven't seen Slayer live, so your opinion doesn't count.

Wow. I thought I was a Beatles fan. I was wrong.

I must commit ritual suicide now.

/will condemn my self to dying of old age. Slowly.

just saved me having to sift through chordie.com

pipco 2007-12-25 07:53:42 AM
Good stuff. I love over-analysis of practically any subject, but music is the stuff I most love and understand.

berniex Thanks fer the chordie. I didn't know about that site.

No thanks. I'm as much of a music/theory nerd as the next guitarist, but sometimes I really do like to just lean back and enjoy a good pop song or acid trip in musical form.

/nothin but impressed by the author of TFA, though

Green since quarter to four and not a single comment about "every written?" Guess people are distracted.

I agree about just wanting to enjoy a good pop song every now and then, but this looks interesting. I've bookmarked it to read later. Thanks, subby!

No prob ;)

I've had this bookmarked for years, I don't even recall how I originally found it. I was sure that someone would have submitted it by now.

You can spend a lot of time on that site.

Actually, I'm proud so say that I have. Yay!!! My opinion means something!!!

Now if only I had one on this particular subject...

SLAYER!!!!!

Much better link to the same stuff (new window, not a Rick Roll)

I have (music nerd alert) read through each and every one of these...they taught me pretty much everything I know about music theory. Not only that, but the guy has some pretty astute non-musicological observations about the songs too...

I have deducted that anything post Beatles for Paul McCarntey sucks. He wrote the most unimaginative, annoying, snobby shiat I had ever heard. He was your annoying, Mac asshole in a coffee lounge before that douche cliche was invented.

Merry Christmas..Holy shiat!

Something he missed:

The key relationships for the song cycle on side B of Abbey Road are identical to those exhibited in the Prelude to Richard Wagner's opera "Tristan und Isolde," a work that has been recorded at Abbey Road studios on multiple occasions.

/wrote a 10-page paper on it for my "Schenkerian Analysis of Tonal Music" class about 8 years ago.
//this class was (in a nutshell) based on the premise that any piece of Western Tonal music, could be reduced to the melodic and harmonic equivalent of "Three Blind Mice."

Reading this stuff has me wishing I had the white album, revolver and some other Beatles stuff in my car for the ride home. I love the white album. Dear Prudence, Long Long Long, Helter Skelter, I'm so Tired..Plus from other CDs....Tomorrow Never Knows....Strawberry Fields Forever....

God they were great.

Interesting stuff! His consistent misspelling of "saxophone" is kind of annoying, though.
