Actually, by the very definition of underwear... yes. Yes it is.

What is amusing is burning is generally not against the US flag code and is the standard way of disposing of an old flag, but wearing the design in clothing is considered one of the biggest breeches of the US flag code you can get.

No. Nor have they gotten over their myopic view of the world it seems, eventhough the last 7 years or so should have taught them something.

The bumbling idiots have learned to read and figured out this was in India, not the US, so no frothing, rabid stupidity in this thread.

This is a thread about India, not about England, or a 500 year old english word for "cuisine", a food invented and eaten only in England.

Pay attention.

I actually own American flag underwear, I think they were made by joe boxer. I think I'm going to go put them on and eat some of that curry we Indians love so much.

/Actually love the flag and what it could represent
//Hate what the flag has been used to represent sometimes in the past and the fact that so many schmorons are under it with me. Rednecks: you are a retarded minority.

Yeah, but burning the US flag for making a political statement is very different than burning a flag for disposal.

Wow, that is lazy. You're probably also sitting in your own filth, with food splattered on your large belly, possibly wearing a diaper. But it's cool, you're lazy, so I'm sure some nice person will come along, google the words "Indian Flag" - you're right, that was tiring - and post it for you.

It's kind like the Niger flag but a different thingee in the middle. Which looks like the Irish flag turned on it's side, sans-thingee.

/Hope this helps

I don't have a problem with using any country's flag as underwear.

I don't have a problem with burning any country's flag.

Now, when a country's flag is burning while being used as underwear, that's another matter.....

I never understood this whole "misusing a symbol is a crime" thing. Absolutely everything should be open to questioning and ridicule, and nothing should ever be so sacrosant that you can't make fun of it, criticize it, or lampoon it.

With very few exceptions, societies where ridicule of symbols (whether it be flags, royalty, whatever) is a crime are uptight shiatholes. And in most cases, there is some form of extreme authoritarian state ideology in the picture (The only exceptions I can think of are Thailand and Turkey, pretty much every other country I can think of where abusing its symbols is a serious crime is a completely and utterly unliveable authoritarian shiathole in my books - Saudi Arabia and North Korea immediately spring to mind).

The former Prime Minister of Australia (John Howard) actually commented that he doesn't believe that burning the Australian flag at demonstrations should in any way be made illegal (this was after some anti-war protesters did so I believe, and veterans' associations were outraged). And he was right. And this is one of the few things I actually saw eye-to-eye with him on in his 11 years in office.

Now sure, in most cases, abusing a cherished symbol of your society's shared identity is a bastard of a thing to do. It'll almost inevitably offend large numbers of people. But still, the right to never be offended doesn't exist, and never should. And nobody should ever be prosecuted just for being an arsehat and doing nothing more than pulling off an act which offends others without causing any real damage.

Yeah seriously. The fatty actually spent more time and energy typing that post than a GIS would have taken. So it's dumb as well as lazy.
