If you have to rely on newspaper endorsements to decide your vote, you shouldn't be voting in the first place.

I would like to this trend move into celebrity "anti-endorsements".

"Don't vote for Thompson, he's an asshole backstage."

Well, good news for the Paul People, the campaign can easily twist a anybody-but-Romney editorial into a Ron Paul endorsement.

ok, done and done

In a recent municipal election, we had an "Anybody but this person" campaign that managed to oust a long-serving (and useless) councillor. It really was impressive to watch it all unfold.

And yes, robsul82, I can see the press release now!

"Newspaper doesn't not not not say Ron Paul should win out over Mitt Romney. The dozens of Paul supporters tout expected boost in polls."

Surely anybody-but-Romney is implictly a 1/15th of a Ron Paul endorsement?

"Recently, the Concord Monitor issued a statement that anybody but Mitt Romney should be the Republican nominee for President. I am not Mitt Romney. In fact, I am the most not Mitt Romney out of any of the current Republican hopefuls.
I'm Ron Paul and I approve this message."

Paulistas: "See? This is proof that the establishment is being pressured into not giving Ron Paul the coverage he truly deserves! They have to issue statements like this in order to hide their true support!"

Great, the Repubs are once again only interested in the guys who are utter idiots (Huckabee) or slimeballs (Giuliani). Romney is a businessman, unlike Bush, and he knows how to run things.

I still don't like his positions, but I think that Romney is the only Republican in the race competent enough to earn the presidency.

ftfy

I was going to make fun of the newspaper, but I've already thought I could live with any Republican except Huckabee or Ron Paul.

No Romney?

No HUCKABEE.

/All the other candidates with a chance of winning are the same, so really, this paper is correct. Who cares?

I lost any and all potential respect (I hadn't really looked into who he was yet) for Romney when he got all pissed of about Putin being Time's Man of the Year. Everyone knows that MotY is given to the biggest influence/newsmaker, not the best person. How do you think Stalin got it?

/What a 'tard.
//You know who else was Man of the Year?

Why does the dateline read "Milford, NH" when it's the Concord Monitor?

Milford is no where near Concord. The Milford paper is the Milford Cabinet. That's right, it's called a "cabinet".

I once won, actually. See, I'm using a computer to post this, so.

The sad thing is, despite what a cluster-fark the Republican nomination inevitably falls into, you know the Democratic one will be 10X worse.

GOd help us....

Gordon Bennett 2007-12-24 01:28:26 AM
I'd love to be a newspaper editor right now. I would endorse, in large letters, "None of these tossers, and the same goes for the Democrats. Demand they find someone at least marginally worth voting for, for a change."

Seriously, I wonder how they find these people. Every single time, it's the biggest parade of losers you'll find outside of a celebrity rehab centre.
