Hoover sent his plan to the White House on July 7, 1950, less than two weeks after the Korean War began.

Ferret face would've been pleased.

Bush was the one that come up with that plan. Hoover just presented it. They just covered that up to have Hoover take the fall.

Should be interesting to see in 50 years what this administration has been up to -- that is if they don't burn it all before leaving office.

I can think of a few Farkers who are probably sporting a pretty sizable chub at the mere thought of imprisoning "disloyal" Americans...

Hey, does anyone around here know a lot about Hoover? Is it true that he said that he liked to hire Mormons for high-ranking FBI positions because the Mormons were so anti-Black?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

As Hoover built that organization on make-believe and magic wish dust I can't imagine anyone having pride in working there. So much fail and it's all out in the open.

The main difference between now and then is they didn't have a bunch of smarmy social parasites questioning every move of the government during the war. J Edgar kicked arse, and we liked it.

I'd generally agree with that, but have you seen the torture thread? There are some guys who'd waterboard their mothers for a frickin' Twinkie in there...I'm thinking maybe some sexual deviance isn't too far out of the question.

No, this is not true. You are an idiot with daddy-issues that are best discussed with your family doctor, and not in a public forum.

I've seen lefties (I consider myself mostly a lefty) talk about which righties would be "up against the wall" after the "revolution". And I wasn't really trying to be too snarky, just saying both sides have their blind partisan zealots.

But with righties being overall more "law and order", there might be a higher likelihood that they would throw people in prison. Lefties would just take their money for wealth redistribution. :)

mormons get good positions in the FBI and CIA because they dont drink, and they arent sleeping around, things that they find are good qualities in agents.

Gotta wonder how many things happened that were even worse violations of the constitution if this was de-classified by the current administration.

I'm not talking about current issues, as the actual Gitmo is far worse than just the suggestion of it.
