Never been there, I would like to visit and tourism is good for any place, but would not bother me the least if they decided to leave the US.

IIRC, the only mammal that is native to Hawaii is the bat. All other mammals are imports by people.

I remember reading an article somewhere about the native language in Hawaii... It said that Hawai'i was how it should be spelled, since it was pronounced with a glottal stop between the two i's.

Dunno how accurate that article was, read it a while ago.
