Top ten donors.

reading that list kinda makes it easier to figure out the congressional agenda for the next session.

Vote Republican in 2008 and put a stop to this kind of ineffective leadership.

Congress is completely Democratic? Wow, they really should be making more progress, given their 535-0 advantage.

I'm really not impressed by whatever supposed conversion you've had recently, the crap you supported for years is what got us where we are today. Since we're basically talking about stabbing a dead body at this point I'm willing to go back to that same leadership again and see just where the road ends. Don't lose your nerve now, stick with the team you put so much energy behind for so long. What could possibly go wrong ?

Never fear, subby. There'll be lots more pro-corporation humjobs for the Big Business overlords coming along soon enough.

deathbed conversions: i really don't question the sincerity of remorse, just the follow-through if there's a 'miraculous recovery'.

Apparently I am not permited to change my mind or consider new evidence and readjust my position accordingly.

"Sir, may I please have some more?" is slavish submission, not independent thought.

Of course you are. And if you hadn't been an persistent and effective supporter of Bush and the Republicans, nobody would even notice.

However, 'told you so' and 'neener neener' is also permitted.

'effective'? Hardly. I'm no more or less 'effective' than anyone else on this website.

Oh now there's a sign of maturity if ever there was one....

Well, I for one say "welcome to the club", Weaver.
Here's hoping you become a DLC Dem, just to piss the Democratic Undergrounders off (they hate them worse than Republicans).

The Ron Paul people are really CRAZY!
Man, they are aluminum-hat wearing giggly birds. I laugh myself to sleep thinking of their antics. You would have to be certified insane to vote for that kook.

We need Obama and the Democrats for true change in '08.

The Democratic Congress didn't do much this year, except for throwing a few pro-labor scraps at its union overlords

Remember, boys and girls:

* A livable wage and good working conditions for workers: BAD.
* CEOs getting golden parachutes while their companies go bust: GOOD.

That's because they're flaming, ineffective assholes who are making things worse while pretending they're really above politics.

/not a DUer.

Hard do anything when Bush vetoes, or threatens to veto, everything.

That's funny... I swear there were calls of "Bush never vetos anything!" coming from certain corners for the first six years of his Presidency!

/Don't send up crap, it won't get vetoed.

are you really saying every bill Bush did not veto for the last 7 years was worthy?

Really? You really want THAT on your resume?

I for one applaud you for that. I some time ago (not that you do, or should, care one iota) switched you from my "Wingnut" farky group to "Good Stuff". Not, may I add, to "Left Wing Nuts" or even "Lefty Loosies". Your postings are with rare exceptions original and articulate and good-natured, which are what matter.

Not every bill. I wasn't a fan of expanding Medicare to cover prescription medications, but I'm not a fan of entitlements in general.

That's because when he had a Republican Congress, he didn't veto anything (except for a stem cell bill). Since the Democrats have taken over, he's vetoed, or threatened to veto, almost anything, even things that were not all that different from stuff he signed when there was a Republican congress.
