Wasn't this on their Cop Killer album?

They were some lyrical geniuses.

Body Count's in the House (NSFW)

In case you need help with the lyrics (NSFW)

I seem to recall a less edited version floating around in the cocaine filled haze of yesteryear, no luck searching though

I f*cking HATE that song. Why would anyone perform it the first time, let alone do covers?

Not bad... but I prefer Wilson Picketts version of Hey Joe.

/It had Duane Allman on guitar as well as some kickass horns.

always been one of my favorite songs.....this version was actually pretty decent.

Well while we're talking covers, I failed to mention TON's 'Hey Pete' was worth a listen.

OLAF THE BENT
that would be Hey Jude. Wicked Pickett was the king of covers

Hey Joe covered by Jimi, The Seeds, The Leaves , Love, ad nauseum

How could you forget a line like "I know your family's grievin'... fark 'em!"

Body Count in August 1991. There was a big spiral mosh pit on the lawn at the back of the amphitheater. It was hot and I went all out until I got the dry heaves. Good times!

/meddling kids!

Saw them (like Living Colour in the other post) at Lollapalooza '91. Ice T came out with the OG rap set first, then Body Count took the stage and Ice out-Rollinsed Henry Rollins, who had performed beforehand. Ice's long-ass hair was loose and he wore nothing but long black shorts, one foot on the monitor, banging his head. It was pretty freakin' awesome. I met him that day and his hat was autographed by his "close personal friend" Christy Canyon.

I saw BC at the first Lollapalooza too (Jersey). Also met Ice up close and personal in the crowd. He was cool, stopped to shake hands and say hi for a minute.

I thought they were great. I was so into them I took my then girlfriend to see Ice and the band do it again in NYC. We went out to dinner at K Paul's beforehand.

Cajun food and hardcore rap metal. It was then I knew she was the one. We're still together.

It's difficult to find moments of good on Body Count's albums, but I still enjoy them, nonetheless.

+1 for Type O Negative's "Hey Pete".

Hey hey, peter, where you goin with that axe in your hand? I'm goin to kill my old lady cuz i caught her screwing around.. with every guy in town...

I'm really surprised that there's anyone around here who actually remembers them let alone enjoys their general musical nonsense.

RIP Mooseman, Beatmaster V, and D-Roc.

Wow, I just looked all of them up.. I had no idea that Mooseman was playing with Iggy Pop when he was shot..

Beatmaster to leukemia...

D-Roc to lymphoma..

all these guys in Ice T's band, all about how bad ass and O.G. they were, two of the three dead died from cancers.. never woulda guessed, eh?

CopKiller was a good album, especially at a time when there was Rap overload and not enough rock in the world, especially Black American rock.

I really liked the version of "Dont call me attractive and successful African-American, whitey" that Ice-T did with Jane's Addiction (the video is under the ending credits of Perry's movie "The Gift"

Thanks ekdikeo4-
I never realised that most of the members of BC had died. Sad. RIP.
