Oh Noes!

Is his commentary job for VH1 I LOVE THE 80s Part XVIII in jeopardy?

rocinante721 2007-12-21 08:32:10 PM
okay, now I feel stupid. Shoulda RTFA first

Wow...it's uncanny...

wee [TotalFark] 2007-12-21 08:54:59 PM
That guy's probably twice as funny as Rocca.

Just pretend I said that in a nasal, deadpan monotone. Like everything else I say.

Don't feel bad.
You were just taken-in by his 'cover' job.
I always thought he was a secret agent.
His work on Iron Chef gave him away.

...so the fact that torture hurts is now a closely-guarded national security issue? Fascinating.

i27.photobucket.com

It's not torture when the US does it.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The CIA asked the Justice Department to investigate whether former operative John Kiriakou illegally disclosed classified information when he talked about the waterboarding of a terrorism suspect, government officials say.

Amerika SUCKS.

fark the CIA, and the other 2,500 intelligence and security agencies.

Remember "America, home of the FREE, land of the BRAVE?"

We're now a nation of cowardly sheep living under surveillance and the oppression of a National Security state.

SoxSweepAgain 2007-12-21 09:20:54 PM
Ooooh, like the "Justice" department (a Bush appointee-led department) will actually be impartial in looking into the CIA.

Yeah, no conflicts there. The results will be whatever the Bushies want them to be.

/Oh, and don't tell Amerikans about "waterboarding" (which is a form of torture that brings a victim to the point of drowning before release) because that might actually make Amerikans look askance at what our jackbooted "democracy" (HAH!) has become.

Wow, that's a whole lot of dumbass in your two posts.

I hate smug people who dont explain their disapproval. If you dont like someone's comment you need to explain why.

I strongly recommend people read The End of America, Letter to a Young Patriot by Naomi Wolf.

If you already have, you already know why.

DarkLancelot [TotalFark] 2007-12-21 10:43:24 PM
Can something that's illegal really be protected by classification? That doesn't jibe with me.

Sharkface217 2007-12-21 10:44:01 PM
Dude. Mo Rocca was hilarious on the Daily Show.

El_Dan 2007-12-21 10:44:34 PM
That's ridiculous, the guy spoke in general terms during his interviews. The fact that information is damaging does not make it classified.

CravenMorehead 2007-12-21 11:39:37 PM
I would actually support waterboarding if they only did it to Mo Rocca.

He's great live, too. I think the format of I Love the Blankies makes almost everyone sound like a douchebag.

America. Land of the free
Unless you question a cop
Unless you talk about the torture, kidnapping, and illegal acts of surveillance
Unless you like making your own personal choices concerning drugs

I'm surprised that the CIA couldn't think of a more effective way to get information out of suspected terrorists and their henchmen.

I'd advocate replacing waterboarding with injecting our Islamofascist friends with pig blood if they wont talk.

Their religion is their weakness, exploit it.

fernanernie 2007-12-22 12:37:23 AM
If I was this guy I would leave the country and become scarce or when it comes time for a congressional review he will mysteriously turn up dead.

DarkLancelot: Can something that's illegal really be protected by classification?

The Whistleblower Protection Act and similar legislation is meant to prevent such things, but when did laws get in the way of the administration? According to them, torture is legal and discussion is not. The White House has consistently indicated that disloyalty is the only crime worth prosecuting.

How much ignorance can be posted in three sentences?
Let's parse this stupidity down and find out.

JQPublic: I'm surprised that the CIA couldn't think of a more effective way to get information out of suspected terrorists and their henchmen.

Yes, like ways that they have know worked for a half a century or more.
Some of us like to refer to this as using the "tried and true" methods.

I'd advocate replacing waterboarding with injecting our Islamofascist friends with pig blood if they wont talk.

I have no doubt you would, what with you not understanding the medical
implications (it would kill the subject) and not having any concerns about
what is moral or ethical.

Their religion is their weakness, exploit it.

And this is the perfect ending to a symphony of ignorance.

Muslims are not afraid of pork and do not believe that they will not have an
afterlife should they be exposed to pork - as long as this is forced upon
them and not taken by choice. This is repugnant to them, probably on the
order of you or me being fed human remains but not something that would
cause them to crack under questioning.

I'm guessing, in a previous life, you believed that Japanese pilots could
not fly at night because of the shape of their eyes.

Is this level of willful ignorance something you plan on continuing over the
course of your lifetime? If do, you may want to consider Dr. Kevorkian's
Suicide as a Rational Alternative kit to save us all a lot of pain.

Thx Subby! That was a good laugh!

lawboy87 2007-12-22 12:10:37 PM
Its already pretty well established that this guy: (he's admitted in further interviews)

1. Wasn't present at the questioning.

2. Doesn't know what was said or not said during questioning.

3. Did not have the authority or ability to do any follow-up to determine whether or not what was said, was in fact true or accurate.

So basically, he's someone without any first-hand knowledge of basically anything, has no way of confirming the truth or falsity of events he's talking about, yet he feels he can assure everyone that waterboarding was effective? I say we waterboard his sorry-ass and see who put him up to this whole charade.

KC Critic 2007-12-22 01:09:06 PM
lawboy87 I say we... see who put him up to this whole charade.

Excellent point. Why is this "routine" referral to the Justice Department even making the news? WTF is going on here?

zusya 2007-12-22 02:00:16 PM
what the CIA wants to do to this guy is what the Chinese gov't everyday and routinely does to people that leak "state secrets", which more or less means anything that would be prove to be embarrassing for the powers that be

WRONG. A drop of pig blood injected subcutaneously will not kill anyone.

...moral? ethical? WTF?

WRONG. Based on what? Until you mentioned it, I never imagined it. Apparently you've forgotten more about racism than I've ever known.

If you are in pain, you are the weaker, and should consider your own advice.

...moral? ethical? WTF?

'Nuff said, I think.

Based on what?

That was propaganda fed to and willingly gobbled up by the more ignorant members of our populace during WW2. His implication being that "pig blood is to muslims as garlic is to vampires" is of a similar vein (pun not intended).

If you are in pain, you are the weaker

Not a Christian then, I presume?
